Publisher's Summary

The next captivating installment in New York Times best-selling author Molly McAdams's Redemption series.

As the Princess of the Irish-American Mob, there's no shortage of men ready to help guard and protect me. To slowly suffocate me to the point of seeking freedom - a place where I can breathe.

Kieran Hayes has been saving me for as long as I can remember. It's in his blood, and one of the many reasons I fell in love with him. Until my favorite trait became his biggest flaw, making me resent the man I love. An unwavering warrior, his love for me has been shrouded by those instincts.

Save Lily. Protect Lily. Hide Lily. Cage Lily.

What I wasn't prepared for was Dare - the man who would set my world on fire with just one touch. He saw straight through to my soul, as though he knew I was desperate for freedom, and silently demanded my heart from the beginning.

And I didn't expect Dare to be Demitri Borello - the reason for so many deaths in my family. A man who will take my life the moment he finds out who I am.

Despite it all, I'll love him until that moment comes.

A fire will die if there is no oxygen for it to consume. Ours is rapidly stealing every last breath we can sacrifice to it.

FLAWLESS, COMPELLING AND INTENSE STORYTELLING

Man oh man I'm going to have one serious book hangover after this unique, gripping, powerful and suspense filled story that centres around a Mafia princess who slowly loses the love of her life.. but finds her soulmate instead. Molly McAdams has written a heartbreaking yet beautiful story of first love gone terribly wrong through tragic circumstances and forever love found through secret liaisons, unspoken truths, bloodshed, rival families, betrayal and sworn revenge.

Lily's meant to be dead.. but she's been hidden away by her Mob Boss father for four long years for her own protection but she sits in her room disillusioned, heartbroken and tormented because the love of her life is slowly suffocating her and slipping further away and, despite her gut-wrenching emotional pleas, he's become remote, distant and secretive. He's smothering her with his over-protective closed-off attitude and Kieran, the Mafia Assassin working for her Boss father, won't listen, won't understand and won't see the cracks in their relationship until it's too late. Because, by then Lily will have met and fallen hopelessly in love with Dare who had, for two years, been a nameless stranger in a coffee shop who set her soul on fire every time she escaped her prison. Both Lily and Dare could feel the powerful electricity that sizzled between them.. but when they eventually touched and talked there's a soul-to-soul connection neither one could deny.

But Fate and Destiny were playing a wicked trick on these two soul mates.. because initially neither one knew who the other one was, Lily had a disguise and Dare was really Demitri Borello.. head of the Borello family, their families were enemies, her brother's masked killers and Dare had sworn to kill the Boss' princess daughter in revenge for a life brutally taken. And, when all the truths are finally revealed - the guns and knives put away - the bloodshed, threats and malicious words said - and the last of the twists have been heard - who will be left standing?.. Will it be Lily the Mafia Princess who is willing to sacrifice herself for love. Will it be Kieran the obsessed over-protective Assassin who never wanted to let the love of his life go.. or perhaps it will be Dare the avenging anti-hero who must choose revenge or forgiveness. And who, out of all the secondary characters, will be standing next to them.

In this dual POV story there was a wonderful slow build to the romance, suspense, thrills, some sex, twists, reveals, emotional angst and drama as each character fought themselves and each other for revenge.. for 'the family'.. for forgiveness.. and for love. This author's talents at weaving a plot of rival Mafia families around two very different love stories - a love that was dying day by day and a love that was blossoming day by day - was so remarkable. The touching fizzle as one love ends and the climactic sizzle as another springs to life was well written and I felt the heartache, the pain, the passion, the pleasure, the anger, the nail-biting anxiety, the lost hope.. and the overwhelming redemption when love was chosen over hate. Great narration too.

Worth a credit? This is the second time this talented author has blown me away with a powerful Redemption story, I'll listen to both stories again.. and yes another creditworthy 5 star listen from Molly McAdams.. and I can't wait for book 3.

Truth or Dare? TRUTH!! This is a great listen!!!

Lilly is a mafia princess held in a gilded cage for her own protection. This story weaves around two crime families in North Carolina, one struggles for greatness the other for legitimacy ..... and intertwined at the heart of both families is Lilly! It is difficult for me to write about the plot without spoiling. Trust me when I give it my credit worthy stamp of approval!

Molly McAdams is fast becoming one of my favorite authors. Her style of writing is appealing and you can absolutely relate to what the characters and sub characters are feeling. The performance was stellar. Throughly enjoyed this listen!!

awesome reading....I loved Firefly.

I felt that there was more to her and that she should have been given a more robust kick-ass charecter....rather than someone who seemed to only rely on being rescued by someone's love. A brilliant plot nontheless.

Narratots were great but the book...

UGH! This book was awful. I thought the first one was okay- tho it mirrored the book, Irrevocable some but not enough. Even tho I returned the first book a friend said this was much better. We aren't book friends anymore. 😐 Okay so this book sounds like it started in the middle or maybe if this was the first time hearing the second book w/o knowing what happened in the first you'd think you missed something when really you didn't. It was all over the place. Too many unnecessary characters, the premise behind the "love" that was so amazing was STUPID and completely crazy! And finally, I didnt get any closure with Keiren (spelling). I couldn't wait for the book to end. If I wasn't painting while listening to this book I would have shut it off bcz it was worse than the first.

Great Story with Awesome Narrators

Everything about Firefly was amazing. Loved the narrators which is a given because I adore Erin Mallon. But more than that this story was so great and I loved it so much. Imagine falling in love for the man that wants to kill you. Firefly was exciting and so well written. Dare and Lily were fantastic characters and I really felt for them both and the lives they lived and what led to their situations. The excitement and anticipation had me on the edge the whole time, but oh so desperate for more. Erin Mallon did such a good job as Lily and Jason Clarke as Dare was a winner. This series really needs to be enjoyed through the audiobook. It just gets better and better.

Not my demographic

The overall story had its moments. I thought this was part two to an espionage book. Wrong. way too touchy feelingy for my overall liking. If your a guy, I would keep the man card and walk away from this one.

Gah! I absolutely loved this one! The notes are so sweet (2 years in the making)! So many gritted things still happened. I wanted to savor this one. Molly sure knows how to write descriptions so vividly. The first meet between Dare and lily.... Floved! Jason and Erin are the perfect narrating duo for this series. I can't wait to dive in the last book of this trilogy!
