Satisfyingly sweet small-town romance!
Reeling from his job loss, cheating husband, and impeding divorce, Jaden Matthews surprised to find he has three half-brothers from his dead-beat dad and part-share in a house and gym from his grandmother’s will. He leaves NY for the small coastal town of Serenity, FL with the intention of selling his share but time in Serenity has some more surprises in store. His brothers, Elliot, Phoenix and Zane, welcome him with open arms but it’s their best friend, Chase, who gives Jaden hope that life is turning around.
I liked this sweet small-town romance a lot. Jaden’s journey of self-discovery, shaking off the shackles of a controlling mother and douchy ex and opening himself up to his brothers and to a new relationship with Chase were all very satisfying. I would have liked more dialogue and less telling, but that didn’t diminish the great story and main characters. I would have also liked to have gotten to know the brothers more but I suppose that would have blown out the word length without moving the plot along much. US voice artist Iggy Toma’s always-excellent emotional range was perfect for the audiobook (currently free on the Audible Plus catalogue)!
