About this listen

Recently named the #1 piece of 20th century literature, The Lord of the Rings trilogy is more than a great story. It's a much-needed reminder that, like J.R.R. Tolkien's hobbits, Christians are all on an epic quest. In examining the Christian themes in the trilogy, authors Kurt Bruner and Jim Ware find that truth and fiction are not as far apart as they seem. Even though Tolkien never intended for these books to present the Gospel, when read in the light of the Scripture, they offer a rich tapestry of redemption, values, and faith against all odds.©2003 Kurt Bruner and Jim Ware (P)2003 Oasis Audio LLC Christian Living Christianity European Literary History & Criticism Religious Studies World Literature

I purchased this title as my Father adores Lord of the Rings, but is lukewarm in his faith. After reading it, I feel inspired to read Tolkien‘s work. My hope is that by gifting the hard copy to my Father, he will be inspired, in turn, to pick up his Bible.

A must read for lovers of Tolkien and scripture
