About this listen

Loner. Troublemaker. Rebel . . . and secret softie?

I try to enjoy the reputation I've earned as a hotshot music exec, even as I'm careful to hide my checkered past. But after another unfortunate scandal catches me with my pants down (literally), I'm forced to clean up my image.

Enter Owen: my best friend's little brother. The adorkable sweetheart is my wholesome polar opposite, which makes him perfect for a little fake relationship publicity.

Owen's just out of the closet. He acts shy, but the more time we spend together, the more I glimpse his surprisingly filthy imagination. And the more I can't stop thinking about him.

I don't do relationships. And with my past crashing down around me, I have no right to drag Owen into the chaos of my life. But then he says my name with his gentle voice, and something unfamiliar stirs.

Owen breaks down the walls I've built, but can a guy like me give him the kind of love he deserves?

Contains mature themes.

This one just felt good to listen to. Very sweet but hot too. Nothing too serious but well done.

Fun spicy listen

Gloriously filthy, and delightfully sweet. I really enjoyed how willing both of these guys were to boost the other's (assumed) kinks, but also how much affection was clear to be seen

Filthy is right!

Fox is a scandal-plagued musician / music producer who can’t seem to stay out of the media due to his sexual exploits. He hasn’t laid eyes on Owen, his best friend Reggie’s kid brother, for the last ten years but now that Owen is in his early 20s, Fox likes what he sees. Owen has a PhD in biology and he’s nerdy, fairly shy, and awkward and he’s always had a crush on Fox. An amusing but embarrassing situation breaks the ice between the two men and Owen agrees to act as Fox’s fake boyfriend to lend him some respectability. Despite his lack of experience, Owen has a particular kink which Fox finds hot and the two start a secret exclusive FWB relationship. Owen wants more but Fox balks at any commitment.

Exactly what the title says, I really loved this sweet and steamy trope-filled romance (best friend’s brother / fake relationship / bad-boy rocker / nerdy scientist)! Owen really was a sweet guy with hidden sexual depths and Fox just had to unleash the beast in him. Fox had a sadder backstory, he came from a notorious family and he did what he had to do to survive. He feels defensive about all of that. Owen’s non-judgmental nature was just what Fox needed. I can understand some people’s criticisms—there were a LOT of sex scenes with the same kink on repeat and the road bump in the penultimate chapter seemed to magically resolve—but I found the relationship sweet, supportive and enjoyably spicy and I’ll definitely chase up other audiobooks by this author. 🎧 Shawn K. Jain (as Owen) and Javi Wilder (as Fox) both gave great audio performances , though I think the qualities of their voices would have suited the other character better.

Sweet and filthy—just like the title says!
