Er kennt seine Stammgäste, eine Reihe echter Wiener Originale. Die gewohnte Ordnung gerät durcheinander als die pensionierte Susanne Niedermayer erschlagen aufgefunden wird. Die Polizei vermutet einen Betrunkenen als Täter, doch Leopold hat eine Leidenschaft am Schnüffeln und vermutet ein anderes Motiv. Auf eigene Faust stellt er Nachforschungen an. Eine heiße Spur führt ihn in den Klub "Fernweh". Bei Filmvorführungen und Diavorträgen floh die alte Dame hier regelmäßig aus der Enge ihrer Heimat in die große, weite Welt.
