About this listen

No one in Imirath had ever seen a dragon, until five eggs long thought fossils hatched in the presence of their young princess, Elowen Atarah. Fearing the power his daughter would wield through her soul-bond with the creatures, King Garrick imprisoned her for many years, desperately trying to break the bond that united them, until a daring rescue saved Elowen from his clutches - but left her five precious dragons at his mercy.

Years later, Elowen is now a woman determined to free her dragons. Having established a queendom of her own, she is ready to do whatever is necessary to save her people from starvation and seek vengeance against her father. Even if that means leaving the home she built for herself. Or having to align herself with the Commander of Vareveth, Cayden Veles, the most feared and dangerous man in all the kingdoms of Ravaryn and her father's sworn enemy.©2024 Olivia Rose Darling (P)2024 Bonnier Books UK

This book was so fun, and had me fully engaged for every minute. Some beautiful moments within, too. Great balance of banter, adventure, spicy tension, fight scenes and sincerity. And here there be dragons! Always a plus for me. The FMC is a great character who is equally badass as she is anxious, which was really cool to read. Even when anxiety becomes crippling, it doesn't diminish all the other ways you possess strength. Very cool to see these themes explored in the fantasy setting, and with a gorgeous MMC who is a supportive cutie while being equally troubled and morally grey but somehow the sweetest person ever.

There is no typical cliff-hanger ending like many similar series-in-progress (thank goodness! my anxious self despises those and yet I cannot stop reading them haha), though I'm equally left wanting more!
I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for book 2.
My only note of slight less-than-perfection is that it's a little fast paced at times and light on some details that the characters then reference. Just minor situations or conversations happening in between the moments that are shown, and I then felt bummed we didn't get the full scene. But nothing crucial, so can't fault it really. Overall 5 stars and excited for more!

A fantastic book, and idk why there aren't a thousand positive reviews already!

Great story, a story about a girl trying to get her 5 Dragons back. Lots more involved obviously but that just a very basic rundown lol I enjoyed the way it ended. Quite a lot of sex but I skipped it 🤭 but if you like that you will enjoy this one xx and bonus is it has a good storyline.

I love a good book with Dragons
