it was so hard to read when the character was so unlikable. really hard.

I almost didn't keep going

So many conflicting thoughts rolling through my mind as the story unfolded kept me listening to the very end. Coercive control and all that results from that behaviour is such a difficult situation to understand. Marina Johnson has created such empathy for, yet incredulity at the behaviour of the main character. The narration was exquisite.

I bought this audio book for a light read. I like listening To audio books at work & I thought the story was original & kept me interested till the end. If I bought the book expecting Shakespeare then, yes, I would have been disappointed but I expected chick lit & that’s what I got.

The narrator had a great voice & was enjoyable to listen to.
