This series was a great discovery. I love the strength and occassional vulnerabilities of the characters, the nascent bond between the leads with a found family vibe simmering away nicely and the shifter magic.

This story felt more intense than the previous one, with closer connections to the action through both MC's. That tension was very well written by the author, who continues to pull me into this world with strong imagery and mystery arcs.

There's more exposure to family types and the complex issues that can stem from them. I'm looking forward to more of that and getting to know Jacky's family - or possibly both her families??

Great work by the narrator, who makes this a wonderful listen.
