This book made me nostalgic, in tears, annoyed, heartbroken and laughing out loud. Lena is such a witty talented writer and she really told her truth from her perspective.

As a millennial who was shaped by GIRLS to read and to understand the blood, sweat and pain she put into that show made me appreciate it even more.

And hearing it in her own voice was very special

Lena Dunham’s Famesick is everything I hoped it would be, honest, sharp, deeply personal and incredibly funny. As a huge fan of Girls, it was such a joy to hear her narrate the audiobook herself; her voice and timing bring an extra layer of intimacy and humour to the stories she tells.

What makes this book so compelling is Dunham’s ability to balance wit with vulnerability. She shares her personal struggles with remarkable honesty, never shying away from the messy or uncomfortable moments, yet somehow still making you laugh throughout. Her storytelling is clever, observant and beautifully written — the kind of writing that feels effortless but is clearly incredibly skilled
