Publisher's Summary

The simple truth is proven that sometimes a gentleman never knows his heart until a lady comes along to introduce it to him. When Mr. Darcy encounters Elizabeth Bennet injured after a fall, his concern for her welfare cracks the shell of his carefully guarded heart, and a charming man emerges. Elizabeth sees an appealing side of him she never believed possible from the stoic, proud master of Pemberley. They find the simple gentlemanly act of assisting her home will test both Mr. Darcy’s resolve to keep his heart safe and Elizabeth’s conviction that this is the last man on earth she might have ever been prevailed upon to marry. Soon, falling for Mr. Darcy becomes a real possibility.

Great Chemistry and Humor

I love the dialogue between the charcters. So much wit! I also loved the chemistry between Elizabeth and Darcy. This book also had a very refreshing take on the character of Mr Bennett that I can appreciate. Well worth the read!

Entertaining Variation of P&P

I really enjoyed this variation. The author took the story line in a direction that would please Jane Austen herself, I believe.

Good story

This book is fast paced, even if it is more than 10 hours long. It never lags and thank goodness there is not so much angst - just enough to make it interesting. Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy do not hate each other all through the book. Mr. Bennett is more likable, Mr. Bingly is more solid and engaging. Mr. Wickham gets his just punishment. Mr. Collins is ridiculous and stupid. All in all a great book with a very good narrator. He narrates a little slowly, so I bumped up the speed to 1.1

Amazing

I’ve had this novel in my library for sometime and couldn’t find the right time to crack it open to listen. I’m happy I did cause it’s amazing. I love the story and the way Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth act between each other every time they are with each other. As usual, I disliked how and what Caroline and Mr. Darcy’s aunt had to say about Elizabeth. Disgusting Caroline’s accusations over what happened in the incident with Wickham. Jokes on her and the old hag, Elizabeth is happily married.

Wonderful narrator!

Excellent excellent excellent narration. One of the best narrators I’ve encountered, and he did the colorfully sketched personalities justice in his reading of this delightful story.

Really loved this story

I have read the book and now listened to the audiobook. Mr Darcy early on finds out his feelings for Elizabeth and turns mr Collins towards another. But there is one thing he can’t foresee with Mr. Wickham. Angst. But it is over quickly.

Characters are NOT true to Cannon

I was extremely disappointed as I have read and listened to Haunting Mr Darcy by this same author and felt the Darcy and Elizabeth acted in manners that were fitting to their characters. Such was not the case in this book. Darcy would have NEVER outright flirted with Elizabeth and acted the way he did. He would have never led her to believe he had feelings for her and just leave the neighborhood abruptly. Another annoyance, is this author seems fond of having other characters quote word for word things other characters said in Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. I particularly didn't like how the author went above and beyond ridiculing Mr. Collins. Granted Jane Austen painted him out to be ridiculous, but she did so tactfully. Jane and Elizabeth were given to gosip and tease in a manner more fitting for there less refined younger sisters. There really isn't much good to say about the story as a whole. It was all so unbelievable. Even Mr Collins getting married 1 week after proposing. He clearly didn't have a special license and everyone remotely familiar with the time period should know banns were required to be read for 3 Sundays in a row before a marriage could take place without a special license.

okay

I thought this was an interesting take on my favorite book. It is definitely not Jane Austen.

Thouroughly delightful!

I think Miss Austen would have been very amused and pleased by this adaptation of her beloved Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth. Mrs. Mackrory has painted a delicious tale of romance and humor and I can’t wait to hear more of her tales brought to life. Sincerely, Mrs. Carroll

Enjoyable, solid story

The premise for Falling for Mr Darcy is straightforward and the description gives a good explanation of what it is about. Elizabeth finds herself falling for Darcy, while he requires more time to understand that she is an acceptable choice. It was an easy listen without any serious angst. I liked the story, although I preferred Haunting Mr Darcy by the same author, mainly because it was a more unique premise. David Pickering did a very good job with the narration.

Poor choice of Narrator

Book was OK but the narrator was a poor choice. Narrator spoke like he was reading a Rhold Dahl children's book. So the emotion was not conveyed. Made the story rather flat.
