Publisher's Summary

Scarlett Lattimore arrives at Lilith House, an abandoned mansion built in 1876, that later housed a reform school for troubled girls, to start a new life with her seven-year-old daughter.

But between the nearby town with the strange, disconcerting feel, the deputy sheriff who is equal parts intriguing and suspicious, and the discovery that their new home holds a dark and violent past, Scarlett soon begins to question her rash decision.

She is shaken and afraid by the screams that echo in the walls and the drumbeat that arises from the surrounding woods where the ghost of an indigenous man is said to roam, seeking vengeance. Her fear is also personal, because Scarlett knew one of the girls who attended the school, a friend who escaped into those woods and was never seen again. They all thought she was a rebellious runaway who later encountered foul play, but perhaps the truth is far more sinister.

As Scarlett’s extraordinary daughter Haddie becomes consumed by the eerie figure who weaves and beckons through the forest fog, and a legacy of secrets reveal themselves, it becomes clear both Scarlett and Haddie are in grave danger. When the past intersects with the present, they will come face to face with the true evil of Lilith House. An evil that has lasted for more than a century.

Mia Sheridan’ s Fallen

Wonderful book! Convoluted plot, full range of imagery —from beautiful details of mother-daughter relationship, to suspense, supernatural forces, frank evil, and resilience — the narrators were excellent. I was hooked.

worst book I've listened to all year.

poorly constructed story, sad cliche characters, terrible narration sometimes so low you could not hear what was being read at other times so loud it hurt your ears. credit wasted.

What a start! Exciting!

I started this blind. PNR? 🤨 Nope. This is a mystery thriller with very little romance.
TRIGGER WARNINGS!! Mutilation of a bird 🤬😭, religous zealotry used to justify atrocities...🤬 and rape (disgusting pigs!🤬🤬🤬). The use of religion to oppress others bothers me on a personal level. There's 0 justification for being sh*tty. This is not a dealbreaker for a book, just gets my blood boiling. Oh the sick truths that came out about the perverts at my parents' church...🤬
Mia knows just what to write for a reaction. ❤ There are sooooo many things that happen in this story that are both thrilling, appaling, and may not be for everyone but is written so well that you hate or sympathize with the characters.
If you have 0 triggers and want an emotional rollercoaster of anger, then this is totally for you. Despite how upsetting some of this was, I enjoyed it all immensely. 😁

What a wild ride!

The story, the narration, the characters!! Everything about this audiobook was amazing! Mia Sheridan's books are just pure genius. Fallen was a tragic but also strong and incredible story. These narrators brought it to life wonderfully!

Loved it!!

Such a great book. I love these kinds of books where there's a mystery and a romance all rolled up in to one. Loved the characters and felt like I was right there with them in the story.

Hard to get through

Actually there was nothing I enjoyed about this audiobook - the plot, the story, or the performance, which was overacted so to speak. I found it difficult doing a review because I hate saying nothing but negative things but there just was not much I enjoyed in order to mention it. I kept wanting to quit listening but just kept trudging through it anyway until the end but it just never got any better. Mia usually does much better.

Twisted Story But Loved The Heroines

This is one of those books where there are so many deplorable and despicable people and their behavior definitely pushes buttons. But Mia Sheridan excels at character development. She does this so well with Candace & Scarlett that they always shine. It’s creepy, tragic, enlightening and eventually so empowering. It all comes together like it should. Great conclusion.

I liked the narration with the exception of the male narrator trying to speak as a female.
