Story
Being a hit man has its perks, but I never thought getting an accidental mooning by an attractive PI while he’s caught on a fence would be one of them. While it’s not exactly love at first sight, he’s captured my interest and won’t let go. Suddenly, I find myself caught in a game of cat and mouse, determined to attract the attention of Jackson, the PI who should be my enemy. He pretends like he’s not flattered by my flowers and the mentions of my totally-not-fictitious blow-up doll, Randy (or was it Dandy?), but I know better.

Conor: It starts with a drunken text pic. The kind I would normally never send. Only, instead of it going to the flirty hotel bartender, it goes to some random stranger who actually responds. Wells: The first thing I notice about Conor Newell when he sits down in my high-rise conference room is how delightfully nervous he is. Then I see his tie. The same geeky tie that’s held hostage on my phone. The one that belongs to my anonymous late-night texter. And it changes everything.

Story
As a sorority pledge, there are commandments that Katie Vickery must live by. One: Thou shalt not show up for the party without a date. Two: The guy shall be an athlete, preferably an upperclassman. Unfortunately, Katie just broke up with her jerkface football player boyfriend. Even worse, her last encounter with him resulted in utter humiliation. She'd rather hide under the bed than attend a party where he'll be. Yet staying home would mean letting him win.
Publisher's Summary
Maddox - The reason I rarely go home is three simple words: I'm a liar.
When the pressure to marry my childhood sweetheart became too much, I told her I was gay and then fled to New York like my ass was on fire.
Now, five years later and after a drunken encounter, I find myself invited to her wedding. And I have to bring my boyfriend-the boyfriend who doesn't exist because I'm straight.
At least, I think I am. Meeting the guy I'm bribing to be my boyfriend for the weekend makes me question everything about myself.
Damon - When my sister asks me to pretend to be some straight guy's boyfriend, my automatic response is to say no. It's because of guys like him people don't believe me when I tell them I'm gay.
But Maddox has something I need.
After an injury that cost me my baseball career, I'm trying to leave my playing days behind and focus on being the best sports agent I can be. Forty-eight hours with my sister's best friend in exchange for a meeting with a possible client. I can do this.
I just wish he wasn't so hot. Or that he didn't kiss like he means it.
Wait... why is the straight guy kissing me?
Contains mature themes.

I thoroughly enjoyed the first book in this series when I read it and now having listened to the audio version I’m even more in love with it. I especially love the internal dialogue that occasionally pops up usually giving me a good laugh. Am looking forward to seeing this Series unfold. Great job Eden!!

Great narration for a great story!!!
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 5 stars
🔥🔥🔥 Heat Level: 3.5
🎧🎧🎧🎧 Narration: 4.5
What a great opener to the series! I love Maddox and Damon!!
This was my first book of Eden’s and was surprised to learn she’s Australian too! I love discovering Australian talent! I loved the dynamics of Eden’s writing and the depth of her characters. I’m so glad I found Eden’s stories!!
Maddox endeared me to him from the start. I felt his awkwardness, anxiety, confusion and commitment phobia. He seemed like a (somewhat confused) free spirit from he start and I enjoyed ‘watching’ him evolve throughout this book and discover who he is and who he could become. Maddox had a server phobia of commitment and being ‘stuck’ or ‘trapped’, I felt Eden did a wonderful job in allowing Maddox to find his perfect person in Damon, that changed his fear, phobias and ultimately himself.
Damon seemed a bit uptight in the beginning of this book but eventually he comes out of his shell and is loveable, bold and confident in who he is. He journey to finding Maddox is an interesting one and I love his sister Stacy and her ongoing pranks (which occasionally backfire) and her crazy dynamic with Maddox.
I felt like this was a well rounded book and loved the main and secondary characters. With some wit, drama and a prank gone wrong this book is a great example of the fake boyfriend trope and has made me a forever fan of Eden Finley!!
🎧🎧🎧🎧 Narration: 4.5 headphones; Review:
I found the Narration by Alexander Cendese (Maddox) and Iggy Toma (Damon) for Fake Out really good. I loved the characters and how Alexander brought Maddox to life with wit, humour and sass and how Iggy played Damon’s seriousness, pain and love so well I could feel these guys falling for each other. The sex is also hot, hot, hot 🔥🔥🔥!
All in all, great narration for a great story!!!

So Funny!!
This is my second MM book and it was just as good as the first! I didn’t think I would like MM as much as I do! should I be concerned? Lol :-P
I loved it! So much humor and realness from these characters you cant help but to fall in love with them! There is something to be said about the discovery of ones sexuality, so much confusion and emotion you can really feel it in this story. I loved how open Maddox is and how he is open to trying new things to discover what makes him happy. Super fun and enjoyable listen!
I love Alexander Cendese he was amazing and it was a first for Iggy and he did amazing too! they are a perfect duo for Maddox and Damon!

Amazing!
First of all, Iggy Toma is one of my favorite narrators, so just for that I already have to kinda love the story I’m listening to.
Now onto the actual book, amazing! I have no idea why I waited so long to read Eden Finley, I already have my fingers ready to purchase book 2!
This was the fake boyfriend plot but with a totally different twist, and I just loved it!
Not only that, but, sexy much? 🔥🔥🔥

Maddy & Damon
I loved this book, so I knew I had to have the audio when it came out. I love the Fake Boyfriend trope, as well as the first time gay so I knew this was going to be great, and I wasn’t disappointed. I thought the characters were well developed and we got some great background on future characters for this series. Maddy and Damon has great chemistry and the story was sexy with a little bit of angst.
This was first listen with these narrators, and a dual narration at that, and I enjoyed it!

This would make a great movie!
I originally bought this book because of Alexander Cendese, who is one of the best narrators of audio books. I was immediately pleased with my decision because the story was brilliant. I wasn't familiar with Eden Finley but I will tell you the writer has a delightful sense of humor which shows throughout the story. The novel was well thought out. I particularly enjoyed how everything was credible, all very believable. Without getting bogged down in an extensive history of the characters, the author gave us enough information to understand and truly appreciate them and the story. I rarely laugh out loud while listening to an audiobook, but throughout the entire story the author had the character say things that would make me laugh so hard my dog would run into another room. This book so kept my interest I didn't want to put it down. I actually listened to the entire six-and-a-half-hour novel in one sitting. In this crazy world we live in, it's nice to be able to listen to a great, fun, love story. I really can't wait for book two.
The narrator, Alexander Cendese, has a voice that is perfect for telling a story. This is so important in an audiobook. I have passed up on audiobooks because the narrator's voice was a bit too shrill or so annoying I couldn't focus on the story. That's never been the case with Mr. Cendese. Kudos to the author and narrator for a job well done. I highly recommend this.

Great Narration, Great Story
This was a really fun low-angst story with characters with chemistry. I also like when authors describe the main characters’ in the minds of the other characters in a detailed way. This author did a good job of painting the mental picture as well as a creating a sexy good book.

Enjoyable and easy to listen to
The voices were pleasent even though it'd be nice if they could get women to do the women voices I realize that takes extra money most wouldn't have.
The being said the voices given to the female roles weren't bad.
The plot was interesting and I can't wait to buy the next book.

Juvenile characters
This author has potential, and the story could have been a 3 star easy listen, but the characters are just so juvenile! It really started to annoy me as the book went on. They act more like young teenagers than 24ish year olds. The relationship drama towards the end seemed unnecessary and just put in for the ups and downs of traditional plots - it didn’t really fit though and was just another thing that was annoying. I think if the author bounced ideas off more people and got more feedback as they were writing they could create a good book as the style had the potential to be good and was comparable to other authors out there, it was just the characterisation and plot points that needed tweaking.
