Publisher's Summary

A powerful, immersive and intimately candid memoir exploring the light and shade that co-exist in love, family and the arts, from celebrated stage and screen actor Heather Mitchell.

Heather Mitchell is an esteemed Australian stage and screen actor, and yet behind the scenes her real life has taken many remarkable twists and turns. Training an unflinching spotlight on her most formative memories, Heather illuminates the heartbreaking secrets, sexual encounters, family dramas and creative pursuits that have shaped her life as a woman, an actor and a mother. The most intimate and moving memoir

The most intimate and moving memoir I have ever had the privilege to listen to/read. This goes beyond the public storytelling into a world of connectivity and the profound connections we have on each other. A celebration of a beautiful life force immersed in the wonder of life and overcoming huge obstacles and challenges with love and hope and deep understanding. Oh my goodness READ IT! Listen! I laughed and howled with pain and tears and laughter. It’s wonderful. You will be forever grateful for her sharing.

A completely open and honest, heartfelt memoir.

I loved the honesty and warmth apparent in every sentence of Heather Mitchel’s memoir. She transports me right back to being an adolescent in Sydney in the 70s. I loved this book and it will be my choice for Book Club in a couple of months.
