About this listen

When Yael Silver’s world comes crashing down, she looks to the past for answers and finds solace in surprising places. An unconventional new friendship, a seaside safe space and an unsettling amount of dairy help her to heal, as she wrestles with her demons – and some truly terrible erotic literature.

Funny and tender, Everyone and Everything is about friendship, grief and the deep, frustrating bond between sisters. It asks what makes us who we are and what leads us onto ledges. This is an intimate, wry and wise exploration of one woman’s journey to the brink and back.

Critic Reviews

'So utterly, beautifully, awkwardly human you will laugh and howl and cringe in recognition. This is a novel about facing up to the worst of life and stubbornly deciding to go ahead and love it anyway. I adored it.' (Emily Maguire, author of An Isolated Incident)

‘I couldn’t put it down. Humour, in Cohen’s hands, is a super power. She uses it so deftly to tell a story that is, by turns, devastating, life-expanding and laugh-out-loud funny. A luminous debut.’ (Sarah Krasnostein, author of The Trauma Cleaner and The Believer)

An amazing book with amazing narration, would definitely recommend. It was very touching seeing that it was based on a true story. I also loved the authors style of writing. Definitely should be made into a film.

Fell in love with the characters and the humor ! Laughed out loud a lot. One of the best narrators I’ve listened to. Grief and anxiety done with vulnerability and hope. Highly recommend this read - hope Nadine Cohen is writing another novel and the same narrator reads it - just a winning combination 👍🏼

Loved this book !

So Aussie. A gentle and vulnerable story with humour, set in Sydney. Death and raw life with themes of mental health, family and the female support system.

Warm, familiar and beautifully read

This story was potentially a sad affair but is so well told that it's beautiful in many ways. so many issues are covered not forgetting the baths in Sydney.

The writing

A beautiful insight into the mind of someone struggling with mental health issues. A girl always at odds within herself but so funny, quirky and blunt in her delivery. So real and raw
