Publisher's Summary

Two teens meet and bond when they are forced to visit their respective parents in neighboring apartments every other weekend. A sparkling, nuanced, and emotional listen for fans of Rainbow Rowell, Morgan Matson, and Julie Buxbaum.

Heartbreak brought them together...will love tear them apart?

Adam's life used to be awesome. Straight As, close friends, and a perfect home life. Then his oldest brother died. Now his mom cries constantly, he and his middle brother can't talk without fighting, and the father he always admired moved out when they needed him most.

Aspiring director Jolene's life is nothing like the movies she loves - not the happy ones anyway. With her divorced parents at each other's throats and using her as a pawn, no amount of mental reediting will give her the love she’s starving for.

Forced to spend every other weekend in the same apartment building, the boy who thinks forgiveness makes him weak and the girl who thinks love is for fools begin an unlikely friendship. The weekends he dreaded and she endured quickly become the best part of their lives. Have Jolene and Adam found something real? Or is their connection doomed from the start?

They’ll find out...every other weekend.

Cute but long

Overall I enjoyed it but felt it was to long. Conflicts crammed in at the end.

Captivating and Emotional

Fans of complex characters will find an auditory treat in this beautiful story! Adam and Jolene’s contrasting situations and compelling feelings are artfully described in alternating chapters. The drama and emotions depicted are real, not the typical frustrating teenage manufactured spats. Each character is expressively deep and you will be unable to put this one down (or push pause).

Nice Read

This book has been on my radar for a while, the cover is so intriguing and the synopsis is so up my ally, but I felt that that it was longer than it should
The story is about Joline and Adam, both come from broken families, Adam's brother died two years ago and his family can't recover from that, while Joline's family is so dysfunctional it's so cruel and it's beyond recovery .. the two meet in their balconies and starts to talk, what began as a banter relationship soon becomes deeper that they are each other only safe place
there was so many sweet moments throughout this book, and I really like that both characters are multidimensional, but I felt that there were so many scenes that were just dragging, other than that it was a nice read

The narrators were nice to listen to, and they did their best to bring life to the story

Such an amazing story!! Absolutely LOVED it!

I think one of the reasons I loved the book so much was because I could relate so much to the situation of the characters and it made me feel less lonely. There were some bits that made me cry that usually wouldn’t have but the performances made me. It was so perfectly worded that I felt like I wasn’t in my room anymore and I was In the book. It really helped me escape. And that’s why I absolutely LOVED it!!
