A brand-new horror novel from acclaimed author Iain Rob Wright. Can you figure out the secret and escape before it's too late?

Cheryl wants to get to know her co-workers. That's the only reason she agreed to go on a "company outing." She and six of her colleagues are going to be locked inside a room with only their wits to help them. If they escape in time, there'll be prize money. Fail, and the repercussions might be deadly.

Quite the ride

I listened straight through. Just a night of sleep I was happy to delay. I tried to turn it off and hit the hay but it was no use, I had to know. As with any review I write I am careful to omit spoilers. If you like this author, then the book is what you would expect. It is, at the time of this review, totally stand alone.
I would say it compares to his novel "Housemates" in terms of level of violence, suspense, twists, and an ending that wraps all the main elements presented in the plot. The epilogue was a tad on the "could be a second part..." though, I suppose it was sufficient to give the reader a chance to be a bit of a detective. I will likely listen again and pay better attention to certain comments and play that role. Mr. Wright is good at making a reader (or listener) think.
Narrator was very good, one voice reminded me of the voice of the actor who played Hagrid in Harry Potter movies. He had unique voices for all the characters except maybe the girls but for a male, it was still very good. Great pace and enthusiasm.
Overall, I was happy and I hope this review helps. I did pay for this and only want to help fellow buyers in making choosing a book a tad easier.

Gory!!

I don't mind the gore! I knew this was horrorish when diving in. I love me a good freaky book. I really like the plot of this one and the development. There was a few phrases that made me roll my eyes, like I'm going to "mash you up". Mash you up was said a lot. I listen to books written by authors all around the world so I know some phrases are popular where others aren't. So the storyline was decent. I finished it in only a day so I must have enjoyed it!

The narration wasn't my favorite. I would have preferred if the narrator didn't alter his voice for various characters. Some of them sounded plain awful. However, when he just read the story it was fine and didn't interfere with my enjoyment. If I'm stopping and paying specific attention to the narration, it's either out of this world or it needs work. This one needs work. However, not enough to make me avoid the narrator in the future but I don't believe I'll be seeking him out either.

Creepy story

This was a good listen. The narrator did a good job with different character voices and made them come to life. This is a story of retribution/revenge, depending on how you look at it. It was interesting to see how it played out. I love Iain Rob Wright’s book and will recommend them anyone who likes a good thriller or horror read.

I didnt want to stop listening!

I listen to audio books on my way to and from work. this was the 1st book, since I listen to, Head Full of Ghosts, that I wanted to continue listening to outside if my car. The characters where very easy to get attached to and the performance added so much to each characters personality. Speaking of the performance, Aubrey Parsons was incredible. He managed to have a completely different voice for each character, making it very easy to tell who was talking. I very much enjoyed this book. It played out like a movie, and I didnt want to stop listening. Definitely recommend to my other thriller/horror fans out there. 5/5 stars

Unique and intriguing

I loved this book. Though I did kind of figure out some of the plot ahead of time, it was such a good listen. The great narration added to the writing. So glad I was made aware of this author and narrator. I will be looking for more from both

loved it!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, the story line kept me interested and entertained. The Narrator made the people seem real and pulled me into the story so much that I now have to see if there is a sequel. I will also be looking for now books by Iain Rob Wright as well as books narrated by Mr. Parsons. I highly recommend this book if you are into suspenseful thrillers. I also think this would make a fantastic movie!

Kept me on the edge of my seat

This was an entertaining story about a group of coworkers that get more than they bargained for when they decide to sign up for an escape room experience. I liked all of the characters, including poor Cheryl who wasn't even supposed to be there. There is plenty of action, intrigue and revenge in this story. If you liked the Saw movies, you'll love Escape!

(I loved the narrator's voice... it really added to the story.)

what's behind door number 3?

*I received this audio book from the narrator in exchange for a honest review. *

This is the first thing I've read or listened to by this author. His name has came across my GR feed from several of my friends. So why not?
The story was interesting enough and kept my attention. I did have a guess as to what was going on before it was ever revealed but i did not guess who was behind it. There wasn't a lot of gore or torture.
Aubrey Parsons narrates the story and it took me a while to get use to his voice. He does this super cartoon-ish voice for one of the characters. All i could think of was the Doug cartoon from the 90's.
I would listen to more of Iain Rob Wright's books in the future.

Another brilliant read in one sitting!

At the time of writing this, it's 03:20AM. I've only just finished it. When I pressed play at just before 9PM last night, I had a feeling I wouldn't be turning it off until it did automatically at the end, and boy was I right! But I certainly wasn't expecting what I got. I wondered how Iain would work this, but what I got was the brilliant bloody, violent, sexual horror Iain is very good at writing. I'm so glad he's given us contact info at the end of this, because I fully intend to use it. I've read Sam, and ASBO by Iain as well, just as good as this. If you're looking for bloody, violent horror, and you haven't read any of Iain's books yet, do so, you won't regret it. I certainly didn't! The ending made me gasp out loud. Took me a second to get it, but when I did, well, let's just say I thought, uh oh! Really good narrator as wel, first time I've heard him. Now, I'm going to try and get some sleep! Morning everyone! :)

One of my favourites

Loved this book. A captivating story of intrigue and survival throughout the most difficult situation. Enjoyed the narrating by Aubrey Parsons who knows how to bring the story to life.
Can't wait to read more of Iain Wright.

Brilliant

I couldn’t get enough of this book. The narrator and author are a brilliant match. The author writes brilliant books and the narrator delivers a stellar performance. The narrator really gets into the storyline and the characters. He isn’t just reading the book, he becomes the book and the characters. If I could give more than five stars, I would.

Brilliant. Again.

This is the second audiobook I have recently listened to by Mr Wright. I love how he writes, so refreshing and absorbing. Again, I devoured this book in one sitting. His characters and their different styles totally sucked me in, so cleverly thought through, you can't help loving and hating each of them with equal passion. The narrator brought each character to life, and made sure the story was beautifully delivered. I absolutely loved it.

Do you really know who you work with?

Be careful of the people you work with as not everyone can be trusted. A brilliant story a must read/ listen.
