Ryder, Garrett, Kenzo, and Diesel - The Vipers. Their deals are as sordid as their business, and their reputation is enough to bring a grown man to his knees, forcing him to beg for mercy. They are not people you mess with, yet my dad did. The old man ran up a debt with them and then sold me to cover his losses. Yes, sold me. They own me now. I’m theirs in every sense of the word. But I’ve never been meek and compliant.

Riot Night changed my life. Coming back to Shadow Grove turned it on its head. I’ve been hunted, stabbed, stalked, tormented, and used. Hate fueled me, lies tore me apart, and in the end, everything I thought I knew turned out to be fake. Except...Riot Night also brought Archer, Kody, and Steele back into my life. No matter how much I’ve fought it, hated it, been lied to, or discovered the deceptions - I want them in my life.

“Madison Kate Danvers was murdered tonight.” Those words changed my life, and not for the better. They were wrong, of course. I wasn’t dead. But I was set up. After being charged with a string of offences - and made an example of by my political-minded father - I’m eventually released back into Shadow Grove with one thing on my mind. Hate. Someone is going to pay for derailing my carefully laid-out future. How very convenient that someone just moved into the bedroom down the hall from me.

Sending him to prison was the worst thing I could've done. It didn't matter that he did the crime or that I wished he was dead. Perhaps I thought I'd have time to disappear before he got out or he'd cool off in jail and be anything but the horror he was. But I was wrong. Three years came and went too fast, and now he's anything but calm. Prison only gave him time to plan. And while I anticipated his vengeance, I didn't expect this. He doesn't want to make me hurt. He wants to make everything hurt.

I was upgraded to first class on a flight from London to New York. The food, champagne, and service were impeccable. The blue-eyed man sitting next to me, even better. He was suave and intelligent. We talked and laughed, and something clicked. Fate took over and the plane was grounded, and we had an unexpected stopover for the night. With no plans, we made our own.

very poor story lines and character development

Publisher's Summary
I’m writing this because you begged. You know how I love the begging. In fact, you probably know too many things and know them far too well. Who am I? Well, that’s what I’m trying to figure out. I was a whore in my youth, a killer since my adolescence, and a monster as a man. I am the man who kidnapped Livvie. I am the man who held her in a dark room for weeks. But, most importantly, I am the man she loves. She loves me. It’s quite sick, isn’t it? Of course, there’s more to our story than can be surmised in a few short sentences, but I’m at a loss for justifying my behavior back then. I assume if you’re reading this, I don’t need to make those justifications. You’ve already made your own. You’re reading this because you want to know about the rest of the story. You want to know what happened that warm summer night in September of 2010, the night I met Livvie at The Paseo. It was the night my life changed all over again. It didn’t happen exactly as Livvie said. She’s been very kind to me in the retelling of our story. The truth is far more…complicated.

Arg. All that goodness from the first two is gone. There’s no story, the narrator losses the Caleb vibe and it’s just, well bad. Maybe I disliked it so much though because the first two were just so damn good. Wouldn’t recommend

Another good story ruined by the narrator
This narrator was like listening to a robot read a text book. There was no emotion whatsoever and no change from one character to the next. Definitely not a good choice for a romance/erotic story. This was a great conclusion to the series and I enjoyed the POV of Caleb but the narration just ruined it for me. If you enjoyed the first two books do yourself a favor and skip the audio - get the print version instead.

A disappontment
I loved the first two and listened/read (did whisper sync) both, but I just couldn't get into this one. I think part of it was the voice just didn't fit what I had in my head for the character and part of it was that the story was pretty good being over after book two.

Good moments, but overall lacking
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
No. I think I would have preferred reading this one, but overall, the tone of Epilogue was juvenile and it didn't match the first two books in the series. It felt like a quickly written response to fans who wanted more from a story that had ended so well already in the Duet.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
I liked a few of the tender moments. I liked finding out what happened in the gap between the end and the epilogue of Seduced in the Dark.
The least interesting is Epilogue's epilogue 2.0--it is the most juvenile of juvenile commentary in the book.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Anthony Elmer?
Let me say this first--I think Anthony Elmer has a good voice. I think he would bode well with comedy, or even the Brothers In Arms series. As Caleb/James, not so much. Another point in his favor is that I think the actual writing lent itself to a bubblegum interpretation.
Mostly though, he needed the accent that Emily Durante, or anyone who could do it justice, could portray. He read way too fast, and the characters seemed way more comical than the serious ones we had grown accustomed to in the Duet. If he'd read with more even pace and sensuality, I think I would have been able to overlook the missing accent (some). Still, the tone of the writing was what drastically changed.
Could you see Epilogue being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
No, but the Duet may bode well on Cinemax.
Any additional comments?
Even though Caleb and Livvie were "above ground" in this book, I think it was too light. It was difficult to go from an erotic scene, or a (borderline) anger scene, to most of the others, because it was so OMG--so Twitterverse--so Sweet Sixteen. I purposely used that terminology to put you in the frame of mind I was in as I listened, after expecting to read about the adult challenges of two broken people trying to make a twisted love work, without the comfort of seclusion. I don't think you can go back to being a bubblegum teen after being human trafficked. Thankfully, I don't know for sure, but that's my best guess. The series would have ended better at book 2.

It was one helluva unforgettable ride!
WOW... Epilogue is an incredibly, passionate, and oh, so very sexy ending to a compelling, sizzling, deeply felt, dark, edgy, twisted, devastatingly beautiful story that screwed with my head, ripped my heart out, and then put it back together by the end. I LOVE Caleb and Livie's story. Epilogue is Caleb’s story- completely from his pov, it shows his innermost thoughts, his feelings, and his growth. Caleb give us his side of the story.. what happened after we left off in The Dark Duet. Overall, this story was entertaining, captivating, and a must listen for all who have invested in ‘The Dark Duet" series. If you haven’t started The Dark Duet, you are really missing out. Caleb is rough around the edges, but he is charming, funny, intriguing, and sexy as hell! It was wonderful to see Caleb and Livvie’s journey after everything.

So disappointed in the narration!
I really liked this series but this listen was very disappointing. I liked the idea of knowing what happened to Caleb and Livi and the story provided many answers but the narrator made Caleb, the murderer, sex trafficker and sadist sound like a boyscout...it was just hideous! Please no more until you can get the narrator right!

Worst Narrator Award Goes To...
This performance was awful. It was monotone and didn't go with the tone of the story whatsoever. Some things would have been dark, had he ever read the book or cared, but he said things in such a bright tone I was like... wtf is going on?! aside from that, the story was loose ends. I was looking forward to dealing with the darker soul of Caleb a little more, but it wasn't what I had expected. Still a good read though, especially if you're a fan of the rest of the series.

Narrator could have been a different choice.
What made the experience of listening to Epilogue the most enjoyable?
The narrator needed to have an accent to keep with the story line. That was a big deal, in my opinion. He sounded too chipper to be Caleb.
What did you like best about this story?
That there was an insight to their future.
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
No, it felt a little rushed. This story was too nice compared to the first two. It should have been darker to match the first two books.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
No.
Any additional comments?
I still love this series.

Horrible Narrator! Save a credit and get the ebook
What didn’t you like about Anthony Elmer’s performance?
EVERYTHING!!!!!!! This book should be re-recorded with a different narrator. Jonathan Cole is at the top of my wish list (I've listened to beautiful secret like a million times). Sebastian York is a close second.
Do you think Epilogue needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
Huge loose end with Vladik and James. Would love to see a future plot involving that relationship.
Any additional comments?
I've never written a review before but I am so pissed off by the narration that I feel compelled to warn others. Please think twice before purchasing -- the narration is THAT bad. Shame on me for not listening to the other reviewers. Don't be idiotic like me!!! What the heck was the producer thinking??? Didn't he/she listened to the first 2 books in the series??? I listened to the books back to back so the audio version was especially jarring. It completely ruined the experience of the first 2 books. There was nothing and I mean nothing erotic about the narrator's delivery. He read way too fast, the accent (or lack thereof) was all wrong and the cadence for all characters had a teeny bopper effect. It was so painful I couldn't even finish -- hence the 3 stars for the story which was rated only on the merit of the earlier books. Yup this is definitely getting returned.

An okay story and annoying narrative.
The narrator in this story sounds like a 15 year old kid as opposed to an almost 30 something man. He has no accent like "James" should have. I loved the first 2 books with a passion but James comes off as conceited, no deep emotional depth like in the first two novels. The only reason I got through it was my love of the first two. Disappointing.
