Fantastic audio for Wesmie Fans.

The audio for Epic may have only been just over an hour, but it was a FANTASTIC hour to listen to. I love these 2 narrators, so to have them performing more Wesmie together was pretty awesome. Loved the novella when it was released in the anthology, thrilled it got the audio release as well.

✫✫ 5 Stars for Wesmie ✫✫

What a wonderful visit with Wes & Jamie. This was like eating cake for breakfast while visiting old friends. I just love all of these characters so much and the happy feeling their stories leave me feeling. I would happily listen to anything these Author want to give us involving these men. This very short story was missing all the sex but it was still very sexy, hot and had the most important thing, the love.

Teddy & Jacob will always be Wesmie to me!!

Magic!

Jamie and Wes are are one of those literary couples that have so much chemistry that the listener can almost hear the sizzle in the background as the story is being read. And of course it only makes the sizzle louder that Teddy Hamilton and Jacob Morgan are two of the best narrators in the business.

More #Wesmie!

More #Wesmie! Learning that Sarina & Elle were releasing more about my favorite hockey players/swoony couple had me in paroxysms of sheer joy. Never mind that it's a novella (the paperback is 78 pages and audio version is barely over one hour). I'll take what I can get.

It was so easy to slide right back into the perfection that is Jamie and Wes. Life is good for the twosome. Wes is killing it with the Toronto team and Jamie continues to love his coaching position. But then Jamie is up for a promotion at the same time that Ottawa is offering him a goalie spot on their team. Career crisis!

I adore these guys and how supportive they are of each other. Their commitment, their banter... it all goes right to my heart. And major bonus: plenty of comedic relief courtesy of Blake Riley. Epic was a total gift and I listened to the whole thing with a huge smile on my face (and heart eyes).

And big gold star to whoever made the decision to bring back Jacob Morgan and Teddy Hamilton for the audio narration. After listening to the first two books many (many) times, those guys totally embody Wes and Jamie for me.

Checking in with the guys!

A Jamie and Wes Novella! *Swoon*

Epic is book 2.5 in the Him series. It is a quick listen at 1 hour and 7 minutes in duration, and is told in alternating POVs of the two main characters.

This book is centered around Jamie and his career. Things are a bit uncertain as he debates a change. We also got to see a bit of the guys on the ice which is always a good time.

I loved this little check in with characters that I adore. I originally read books 1 and 2, Him and Us, in 2016 and was super excited to see that this novella was just released. What a great surprise. I guess this will have to hold me over since nothing new has been released for the WAGs spin off series since 2017. So glad to find this book and hoping for more in the future.

The narration was perfect. They both did a great job.

—Excellent continuation of HIM—

The good - Narration and vocal chemistry from Jacob Morgan and Teddy Hamilton really goes a long way to elevate the listening experience. Not only is the dialogue crisp and clearly spoken, you can feel the emotion behind what is being said. If you already read books 1 and 2, then I highly recommend giving this a listen, despite its quirks.

The weird - There was some angst about one of the characters possibly being relocated from Toronto to Ottawa due to his career, which came across overly dramatic since it is less than a 3 hour drive between the 2 cities. Both teams are in the Atlantic division of the Eastern Conference, so they would have seen each other at least five extra times due to scheduled divisional play (this would be in addition to all the other times they would have to be together outside of work). There was also some worry about a 45 min commute time, which again, was odd. To be fair, there was also potential for one of them maybe moving to the west coast to play for the San Jose Sharks. Which again, I don’t see as an issue since there are professional sports players in committed relationships who make it work despite the frequent travel.

The bad - At times, there were places where the story felt rushed or incomplete. This did not detract from the enjoyment I got from listening or the 5 stars I gave it.

The frustrating - The emotional climax at the end of the story and subsequent denouement was interrupted by a lovable character we got to know from the previous books. Which was fine, except that the authors decided to end the story not long after that interruption. So, here we are, after everything the two main characters got through together from their own perspectives, and then, umm, no sizzle, no steam, and definitely no sex scene. Usually I am wanting more plot and character development to balance out the sex scenes from M/M romance, however this was not the case with this lovely little gem. It definitely feels like falling off the edge of a massive cliffhanger. I hope this is not the last book in the series.

A great novella

I’m so glad that we got another book (no matter how short) about Wes and Jamie. It was great to listen to these amazing narrators reprise their roles.
