Präzise leitet der große Detektiv aus der Chronologie der bisherigen Morde und der in ihnen enthaltenen Symbolismen eine Prognose für den mutmaßlich nächsten Tatort ab. Um nur wenige Meter soll sich Holmes diesmal irren. Und tatsächlich wird der "Ripper" erstmals auch wirklich bei einer seiner Taten gestört, kann den so präzise geplanten Symbolmord an Elizabeth Stride nicht wie erhofft zu Ende bringen. Aber genau das "muss" er. Weshalb er sich spontan ein weiteres Opfer wird suchen müssen.
