Publisher's Summary

An Academy like no other for a girl with a destiny that no one could handle....

Caelum. Home to "freaks" the world over. Haven to children declared insane by humans, but whose beautiful minds contain the souls of seven creatures. In the human world, they're sick. Ill. Labeled schizophrenics at best, deviants at worst. At Caelum? They're normal. More than that, they're future warriors in a war no human knows is happening.

Into this mix tumbles Eve. An oddball even among oddballs. Raised in a cult, she can't handle a TV remote never mind news that she isn't insane, is old enough to join the war effort, and, oh, is mated to several males.

Caelum is more of a home than she's ever known, but, just like in the New Order Cult that reared her, anyone out of the ordinary is a dead man walking.

And Eve? She doesn't have seven souls like everyone else. She has eight. Dead woman walking?

Contains mature themes.

***Great Listened***

I loved it and can't get enough of Eve and her mates. Ok apart from me wanting to bitch slapped Dre, the group dynamic has changed. Eve's chosen's has to play nice and get along for her. I'm so glad Eve has changed from her naivetè to a confident and passionate woman. This book makes you feel and be a part of their world. I couldn't put it down. I loved all the individual point of view, I get to know all the characters intimately and I fell in loved with them...Ok maybe love is too strong for Dre and Samuel lol but their getting better. Five star all the way. The narrative is brilliant both of the narrator's are excellent.

Great book great audio

This is such an amazing book to read so for it to be brought to life is absolutely amazing. The readers are perfect. My overall is 4 star for the purpose that the audio skips over pages 37-39 for the kindle edition of the book. Considering I paid for the book like many do if I would not have been reading along or know the story I never would have guessed that I missed a part of the book. The story is amazing and my overall four star has nothing todo with the story or the readers.

Amazing!!

This series has been absolutely amazing and so unique. I love the creatures and how they have all of these supernatural creatures/souls living inside each person and how each as their own personalities. I like how extra weird and freaky that Eve is with her eighth soul and I loved finding out what it was (huge shock!!). I liked how her relationships with each of the guys has grown even though she is still shy. I have enjoyed how they have become possessive and protective of each other and both the packs melding together for Eve. I have had several snort and laugh out loud moments with this book. Highly recommend this book. I really enjoyed the narrators, they did a great job at differentiating all the characters.

Amazing

This was one of the best audible books I’ve done this year. I really enjoyed this paranormal RH it was amazing. I enjoyed the growth and even the religious take on it. & I’m not a religious person. This books pulls on all your heart strings make you laugh and wanna cry. It’s not a teen bullying book. It had very little bullying in it. I finished all three books in 2 I couldn’t stop. I was obsessed

Loved it but...

So riveting and unique and sexy. I love Serena Akeroyd's books but not the obvious anti-religion rhetoric and clear and offensive ignorance on Islam here; no 'Muslim to the core' would cheat on his wife or have affairs or abuse ANYONE whatever their age or faith (or lack thereof). 'you have your faith and I have my faith' is in the Quran. And adultery is right up there with the worst of sins a man or a woman can commit, right along with abusing animals, nevermind children. Ugh. Despite that offensive, bigoted crap, I enjoyed this and will probably get the third book soon, after I've washed the nasty aftertaste of that part from my brain.

Narrator Fail

I loved the first book in this series enough that I immediately purchased this book (book 2) moments after finishing. I wish I hadn't. The story itself is great and I would enjoy reading the book. But the audiobook? There are WAY too many long, drawn-out passages with the male reader performing. He does a poor job of differentiating the male voices, makes a parody of Eve's female voice, and only grows more and more monotone as the story goes on. He also often drops into "narrator" mode in the middle of when he should be voicing a character instead. His performance completely distracted me from the actual storyline and I found long periods of time where I was bored senseless and wished he would just shut up. I'm so disappointed because I feel like I've "missed" the whole book due to his failure as a narrator, ugh. He wasn't featured as prominently (or maybe just performed better?) in the first book, otherwise I'd have known to steer clear.

Starting to wain

Its almost like they switch characters to say the same the over and over again in grave detail. Guess I will wait to read the next book.
