About this listen

Eddie and Andrew have dynamite chemistry. But Eddie is profoundly dyslexic, and Andrew lives to read. Andrew is pathologically disorganized, and Eddie likes things neat and clutter-free. Andrew is desperately ashamed of his hoarder father, and Eddie is embarrassed by his lack of education - secrets that could pull them apart even as a friend's tragedy brings them together. When Andrew's father's condition deteriorates and he nearly dies because of his compulsion, Eddie and Andrew must learn compassion begins with loving oneself because Grime Doesn't Pay.

Dyslexic coordinator at The Brothers Grime, Eddie Vasquez has found ways of compensating for his reading difficulties. However, he’s fallen for Andrew, his niece’s school teacher, who loves quoting from and discussing books. Andrew is hiding his own difficulties and the two men will have to be honest with each other if they want to make it work. There were lots of lovely things about this including the supportive relationship, the size role-reversal, and the explorations of hoarding, dyslexia and dementia that were thoughtful without getting too angsty. I really liked the character of Eddie as the considerate gentle giant. Despite the gruesome nature of the trauma cleaning business, this series is upbeat and heartwarming. Audio narrator Joe Arden gives another excellent performance.
