Publisher's Summary

Jack

In my perfect world, it would always be winter and never Christmas. I despise the holiday. I hate carols, shopping, and pretending to be a perfect family. I walked away from my family, or rather, they walked away from me.

My heart is like ice. See it creeping up the walls. Oh, wait, no, that’s royal icing.

I never should have allowed The Great Christmas Bake-Off to film in my tower. And I never, ever should have agreed to be a judge.

Chloe

I love Christmas! I love sparkly window decorations, heartwarming holiday movies, and themed coffee. Most of all, I love Christmas baking.

Even though his company is sponsoring the bake-off show, billionaire Jack Frost claims he hates sweets. But after he tastes my goods, I know he'll come begging for more.

And wouldn't you know it, that night Jack Frost asked me to come up to his penthouse and give him a special taste of my Christmas cookies.

Against my better judgement I went. I baked him my signature gingerbread cookies, and of course, he ate them up!

It should have been a Christmas miracle, but Jack Frost couldn't have come into my life at a worse time. Not only am I broke, but this was my first Christmas after my oma died. Someone is trying to sabotage me in The Great Christmas Bake-Off. I'm being stalked by a mall Santa.

Sleeping with one of the judges is a disaster waiting to happen. I needed Jack and his washboard abs about as much as I needed that third sticky bun.

But when he says in his deep, sexy voice, "Can you make me some more cookies?", well, stick a candy cane in me. I'm done!

Eating Her Christmas Cookies is a stand-alone holiday novel. This full-length, steamy romance novel has no cliff-hangers but does have a very happily ever after!

Fun Christmas Based Story

This was a fun HEA story. A bit predictable but the characters are interesting so much so Ive now read book 1 & 2 and all of the Svensson Brothers books. I highly recommend. Great spicy sex scenes to heat up cold winter nights.

Predictable

First of all, if you are offended by sex scenes, this listen is not for you! The sex scenes take up a fair amount of the book. I did like the family dynamics and the characters interaction.

Christmas baking + romance = entertaining tv?

I liked this story a lot. It was entertaining and enjoyable. I'm not big on reality tv and there were many things that I found odd about how the production was done. Given that I'm not in the baking or entertainment industry there was an abundance of descriptions about the set, the decorating, and of course the cooking that was completely over my head. That left me with a bit of confusion and a desire to start to skim so that I would be comfortable. I didn't though! The characters were interesting and likable for the most part. Hartleigh was certifiable and I think I'm still in shock that they allowed her on the show or around Jack in the first place. I loved how Chloe tried to do something nice for Jack even though the first time it blew up in her face. Jack and Chloe were great together. I liked how their story ended. I would have liked an epilogue further out, but that's just because I'm greedy. I recommend reading this book. Listening to it is also a great option. The narrators did a wonderful job and kept me engaged even when I struggled with things I didn't understand. I recommend listening to this book!

The Baker and the Billionaire

This story had all the great things that Alina Jacobs does so well. Fiesty characters (both MCs), complicated work/family relationships, well thought out details, and HOT intimate scenes. You combine all of that with Christmas and you have a winning story.
Chloe is a down on her luck baker and she has headed to the big apple to win her chance at one day owning her own bakery and Romance Creative has just the ticket to set her on the path with their holiday baking contest.
Jack Frost just can't catch a break. He is saddled with this office space in a not so desirable part of Manhattan and only his commitment to Romance Creative to host the holiday baking contest, with him as a judge, is keeping him from bailing on his commitments and letting his partnership with the Svennson's dissolve and sell the property. Jack hates all things Christmas and this financial crisis is at the wrong time of year (is there ever a good time for a financial crisis?) and the only bright spot is the cute, curvy baker that he shouldn't like, because let's lay all the cards out on the table, hating the Christmas season includes all the sweets too. What in the world is he doing judging a baking show? He doesn't know either.
Throw in crazy ex-girlfriend, unruly families, crazy Santa stalkers with bright, merry lights, and yummy food and you can't go wrong with this holiday romance.
So much happens in this story. It honestly shouldn't be summed up in a few sentences. Chloe and Jack are special. They go at each other with typical hate at first site fervor but are soon made aware of each other's strengths and assets and find themselves banding together to survive the craziness of their current situation. As with any good romance, the road isn't smooth (or the frosting maybe) but Chloe and Jack get their HEA and you won't be mad about it. At all.
I was impressed with the level of research Alina did for this story. Perhaps it was because I was listening and not reading it, but I was surprised at the level of knowledge she shared about each dish Chloe prepared and her infusion of business knowledge (real estate, medical equipment, innovative tools, etc) that she put into Jack. It was a job well done for sure.
I liked the narrators of Chloe and Jack at first. I had to speed up the playback to tolerate Neva after about halfway through the book. She always sounded too something... and when she did Hartley's voice, I didn't like it at all. Tim's voice for Jack and the other characters was much more pleasant, especially in a 10-hour book. The only thing I didn't like about his interpretation was his snappy, exasperated voice, otherwise, I found him delightful.
Alina Jacobs is always a one click author for me and I have really enjoyed all the interconnectedness of her series. I have requested a spreadsheet or family tree to keep all of the characters and their partners straight. With more books in the future, I really need help keeping each pairing in their lane. This is spectacular kick-off to the spin-off series The Frost Brothers.

Cute but dirty

I thought the story was a delightful romance but all the sexual detail was too much for me. I like a little more left for my imagination. Just not my thing.

First Frost...perfect rom com

First of the Frost series is epic. I love these characters. The story line, flow...everything about this book is wonderful. A true rom com. Both Jack and Chloe know what it's like to have bad family members and crazy stockers in this read. Sweet, steamy and full of fun you won't want to reading or listening. I've done both and as for the audio version, the narration was great and really brought the characters to life. Another perfect read/listen In my opinion.

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review

So cute

I recieves this audio book for an honest review.

I really enjoyed the performances and stories. I've been a long time fan of Jacobs and just hearing this come alive makes it even sweeter.

It's got everything you want in a romance story. A billionaire whose is frosty, a sweet woman who has successful in her life. Chance encounters of a baking comeption and chemistry off the charts. And of course a HEA.

Another fun read

A fun holiday story from Alina Jacobs! I have read her Svensson Brothers series, but this was my first time checking out the Frost Brothers.

I really enjoyed getting to try it in audiobook. The narrators did a great job bringing Chloe, Jack, and the Great Christmas Bake-Off to life. Just as with her other books, Alina Jacobs brings both the humor and heat. It was fun seeing how Jack and Chloe's opposites attract relationship developed.

I am looking forward to trying the other books in the series!

Crazy, hillarious and full of steam!

What do you get if you mix a Christmas-loving baker with a Grinch of a billionaire, a Christmas bake-off and a bunch of backstabbing contestants? Mayhem!!! With Christmas just around the corner, this is a rom-com that will definitely get you in the mood. It's hillarious, crazy, full of innuendos, food-themed wordplay and lots and lots of steam that will melt your reading/listening device!
