Former detective superintendent Bob Hoon has had one hell of a year.

The absolute best Hoon fest so far. Interesting that this book is set in only one location but I believe it’s the best by far. Action packed and hilarious as only Hoon, Berta and Iris can be. Great inclusion of all our other favourite characters. I am devastated that I’ve finished it. I JUST WANT MORE. As usual Angus King brings every character to life. I had to stop and go back many times because I was laughing so much I missed what he was saying. I can’t recommend J.D. Kirk highly enough.

The narration of this series is the best ive ever come across, i'm a long time listener with Audible and i was absolutely blown away. This series had it all, very funny. A lot of swearing which added to the outstanding performance . I cant say how many times strangers watch me with surprise as i laughed out loud in public listening to this. Angus King is my new favourite narrator hands down, and Robert Hoon my new hero. Well done JD Kirk. and Angus you have a fantastic gift.

There's a new (ex) cop in town for Xmas, and his name is Bob Hoon. He's mean, determined, and has the patience of a gnat when people get in his way. He's also not a fan of Xmas, or shopping so meeting a Santa or two in a shopping centre during Xmas week is a sure fire method of rubbing him up the wrong way.
Hoon lovers all over are already raving about this book. It doesn't disappoint.
Bob and Berta's unique grasp of language nuance entertains readers once again.
