Critic Reviews

"One hell of a novel.... has what sci-fi readers want these days; intelligence, action, and an epic scale" ( Isaac Asimov's Science Fiction Magazine)
"The prime attraction of Earth is the author's unfailing resourcefulness in extrapolating a post-greenhouse-effect future that is plausible, dismaying, and amazing in equal parts…. Brin's prose ranges from regular to high octant…. His characters have vivid intellectual lives." ( Entertainment Weekly)
"Brin has conceived his story on a supremely ambitious scale, and executed it with all the skills at this command." ( Chicago Sun-Times)

I can't finish this narrated version. I love the novel and read it almost yearly. Listening to a slightly different accent from different narrators is one thing - when the narrators have no clue of what country the characters are from is just pathetic and insulting.
Perhaps they'll read the next New York Italian novel with a Mexican accent? Close enough right?

I won't be listening to these narrators again. One day I might find Earth narrated with some tiny fraction of effort that would have helped this version.

I hope David Brin has no idea...

Book is amazing. Voice acting is terrible
