Really? This was awful!

If you want to learn about the types of electronic training collars, this book is for you. It covers the subject in depth, covering long range collars, collars that beep, vibrate and shock, or just do one or two of these things, collars that spray a substance in the dog's face, bark collars and more. This does not, however, cover training or training techniques and gives very little training advice. I felt the book was mistitled.

The reader read at a middle school level, stumbling over words and mispronouncing others. I'm surprised that Audible would allow such low quality reading/narrating...

If you think this book is for you, read it in print!!!!

Far too basic, awful narration.

It certainly covers a lot of material but most of it is unnecessary. There were no second takes on the narration regardless of how many mistakes were made, tough to listen to.

Basic and Repetitive

Amateur and second grade level writing. There is a lot of repetitive information and a whole chapter dedicated to different collars, other than e- collars, which is not the reason I got this book. I’m sad I used one of my credits for this.

Must be fake reviews

This book was nothing like advertised. There was no content about training your dog with an ecollar. This purchase was false advertising. There were a few buyers that mentioned the poor reading but I feel like my money was stolen in this case. The entire book was repetitively stating the different types of collars with a minimal discussion of ecollars. I want a refund because this book was nothing of what the description stated.

Wow...disappointed

The narrator made a lot of reading mistakes and for lack of a better way to say it, sounded like he was reading and tripped over the words a lot.
Also this wasn’t a book on ecollar training...it read like a report on the types of ecollars their pros and cons. Absolutely no training advice

Also, I'd like to know what book the other reviewers (other than the 2 below me) were reviewing. Because it's NOT this one!!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book !!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and got some useful ideas. The idea to redirect behavior was a game changer around here. Regulating their resources also gave a sense of calm to my three dogs. I'll continue to apply these ideas. Thanks for bringing dog training to the middle ground, as swinging too far to either extreme never works on dogs or people.

There is something wonderful, and almost magical, when you get to see a dog fulfilling and living its “dogness” The only way you can get there is to see the world and communicate with them in the way that they see the world and communicate.

I love this Book! This wonderful book thought me how to stop begging at the dinner table, and be happy about it. The author manages to teach the pack mentality and the importance of our daily outings. Also, my dog now behaves on the leash while we both enjoy the outing! Best book ever!

If you own a dog, you need this book.

If you own a dog, you need this book. One of the best, well-explained dog books. Easy to understand and provides a well-rounded approach to owning and raising your dog. An excellent companion book to the Art of Raising a Puppy and How to be Your Dogs Best Friend. I recommend this to all my friends and I purchased five copies for each of my grandchildren and family.

Just what I needed

I was looking for a “how to” book on training with e collars and this is just that. He explains the process simply and also outlines why we are to do it that way. Recommend to new e collar users.

e-Collar Training at it's Best

This is for training beyond the basics of sit, stay, lay down. The instructions are clear and easily understandable. We have used the beep function on our collar to get our dogs' attention with the "come" command, he is a Terrier mix and sometimes gets it in his head that we are not serious.

Instant Success!

I received the collar this morning and immediately put it to work on my 1 year old Border Collie. She was tamed in less than 30 minutes. She had a tendency to run away on while walking around my property. I used the vibration about 6 times and the actual shock 2 times and now she stays close to me and does not run away. It was really hard on me the first time I zapped her. But the guilt of doing that was far less than the pain I would feel if she was to run away.

The audible beep gets her attention. The buzz now makes her stop and keeps her from running. The actual Zap set at level 25 stopped her immediately and caused her to run back to me for protection.

Very concise guide to basic e-collar use.

I have been training with e-collars for close to 24 years. Even still I enjoy listen how others explain their training and I examine for small things that might make my approach even better. This book is an easy to listen and takes you through the basics very well.

Amazing E-collar! Fits my huge dog!

This remote training collar is amazing!! It took some time for my dog to get used to what the beep and vibration mean, but now it corrects him immediately. It has been wonderful for keeping his face off our kitchen table and counters! I have a very large dog and the collar is large enough to fit him well. I highly recommend this training collar!! Please mark if you find my review helpful. Thank you so much!

I would give it 5-stars

I tried this collar on my rescued Boston Terrier who had AWFUL separation anxiety. If you are looking at using a "E-collar" in your dog training regiment, then save your money and get an E-collar.

I love this Dog Training E-Collar

I love this Dog Training E-Collar! We recently adopted a sheltered pup who had a biting problem and loved to dig up the back yard. With a warning beep and just one zap, he has completely dropped both habits. We only have to use the warning beep and vibration function and he knows to stop what he's doing immediately.

The waterproof function is an added bonus. We've only tested it in heavy, wet snow but it functioned perfectly. We look forward to testing it out in the river or beach while taking the dog to swim.

This set is perfect for the price and a great investment for any dog.

Great Training E-Collar for Dog

This has been the BEST training collar so far! We've tried 3 other brands prior to purchasing this one and they were all garbage. This one works great and the collar and remote are both great quality - and the best part is they actually hold a charge! Other ones we've tried wouldn't last a full day! Great training collar overall - the only thing that I would chage is the size of the receiver, it's huge especially for a smaller dog, but I guess that's the trade-off for it being able to hold a charge for so long.
