Publisher's Summary

Alistern “Stern” Masterson never expected to have the sort of life he found himself living. He was an irregular - a person who looked like the undead and had unusual perks - and his life hadn’t been very pleasant, so he’d written off the idea of ever finding anyone who understood him. Then, an old lady had asked for help, and he’d given it....

Stern was able to rescue Cyra Walot’s shards from the Bloodstone dungeon, after which he was brought before the city magistrate on false charges. Cyra helped him clear his name, and he was set free with the newly reborn Cyra beside him.

Although the rabbit lykian had lived a rough life and died horribly inside the dungeon, she wasn’t about to let that stop her from following her own dream. Seeing her determination, Stern offered to help her. Together, they ran the starting dungeons so that Cyra could develop the skills she would need to survive as a Walker.

Stern and Cyra found a friend in Trish Moxy, an accomplished leatherworker. That friendship blossomed and grew, becoming something that none of them had expected.

The new triad relationship and fledgling crew trained together in Darkstone, preparing to take on the next set of dungeons. These would be much harder, but they felt like they had a chance if they worked together.

After Darkstone, they set out for Waterrock. They were intent on finding people to fill out their crew, knowing they would need more allies for what the future held.

(This book contains non-standard relationships and touches upon adult situations.)

Same/ Similar to his other series

The author is great at world building and has good magic system ideas, but he also has a weird fetish with polyamorous relationships. So much so, that this is the THIRD series he has written (that I know of) where the MC just slips into a relationship with multiple wemon.

Is the author projecting his desire for multiple women into his books? who knows. Maybe it's just easy filler to flesh out his books. In my opinion though, it's getting old.

If it wasn't for the cat I'd stop listening. . . so you've won this round Mr author.

Great continuation!

This is mostly a slice of life adventure story with the same characters and dungeon diving mechanics from book 1. The main group expands a bit by taking on new members and the 1st half of the book really does a lot of backstory and character development for them. Most of the action hits mid and late story and it's all fine. Looking forward to the next book.

not gona lie the reunions scene made me tear up

I took consider myself relatively new to this author. I read Lucks voice which as of the time of this review has three books out. I really enjoyed the story and decided to see what else was available from this author. Of everything that I saw this Ceres was the one that I found interesting enough to buy into. The narrator did a fantastic job and I very much so enjoyed this story as well. Unfortunately it's just the first two books that are out right now both in audio and ebook form. with that said I think I'm going to continue on with this authors current for back of a better word for polio of work and see if there's not another series that catches my attention. I'll definitely be back to see what happens next with this particular series.

good book but no more women

spoiler warning ⚠️ it's a very good book the relationship between Stern and the others is beautiful and mostly feels genuine. (Trish felt a little forced) I believe it should remain between the two of them. I know the story is as the creator wishes it but I suggest not cheapening the love between them by spreading it to thin. on a different note the dungeons felt a little too similar and many places could have been expounded on particularly in the terrain of them. cave ins pit traps are some suggestions. despite that I feel like it was still well done and should be listened to if you enjoyed the first book.

masterfully read

The book was a bit predictable, or perhaps I've just listened to too many of the Author's books. The narrator does a great job changing accents and inflections for the various characters. It's really refreshing to have the variety of voices.

The story feels a bit unfinished as I'm sure there's a plan for several more books in the series.

Semi-spoiler:
There are quite a number of references to other characters from the Alpha World series. There's also some spoilers from those books as this takes place after that series. While it's not necessary to read/listen to those books in order to enjoy this series, I think it adds a bit of context.

Thoughts

I feel like this world and characters are actually the follow up world to Alpha World. Stern refers to mom, mom, and mom. Stern is part infernal. I think Irregulars are the children from people from Alpha world and the NPCs of that world. I could be very wrong. It just fits.

Wonderful

Certainly a great series that continues to build upon it's characters. I'm looking forward to seeing the dwarvess' reaction to learning of Stern's family.

A Great LITRPG for the Hopeless Romantic

A different change of pace where Love is more important than Loot. The relationships take center stage in a world that we still just started to explore. I am looking forward to the next round in this nice break from the grind.

another great book

loving the story as it grows and evolves. also really enjoying the references to the other series.

I'm also enjoying the slower build for the relationship and how it is progressing. even though part of me would like to see it faster, I'm really enjoying the pace and anticipation for what is to come.

I can't wait for the next installment keep up the good work.
