loved it from beginning to end. has everything in it you could wish for. Dragons, Dragons and more Dragons, romance, death, fights, a great story line. So emotional I cried like a baby.

Having read all of Anne McCaffrey’s books on Pern many years ago, this was such a lovely way to rediscover how much I loved the dragon stories. The narrator Sophie Aldred has a gentle lyrical voice and her ability to change inflections for each character is skilfully done. I thoroughly enjoyed my trip back to Pern.

One of my all-time favourite books, with the others in the series. Believable characters with a grabbing storyline that keeps you listening. I'd love to hear someone giving more variety and reliability for the different characters, but still good.

Anne McCaffrey is one of the greatest author's the world has ever seen. From the moment you start one of her books, you will find it hard to put down and it is not only the Dragon riders of Pern that will catch you in it's world of delight, but also such wonderful book's as the Catteni sequence, the Tower and the hive, the Talent series or any of her books that have been written in callboration such as the Acorna series or the Powers that be. If you enjoy science fiction fantasy then you should take a look at this wonderful author's works. You can also find out in her collaboration, some more fantastic author's who have become some of my favourite authors, two of them are Margaret Ball and Elizabeth Ann Scarborough. So get a good drink, get comfortable and enjoy the greatest adventure you can have without leaving the comfit of your home.

I enjoyed the reading, however it was a little hard keeping track of the characters, especially those with similar sounding names not being as distinctive as they could have been. The tone and pacing was great.

I read this series so many years ago and they have always stayed with me, I love them. Hearing the first book was simply magical and magnificent, like the characters and dragons, can’t wait to listen to the rest. Would also like to be able to “hear” The Ship Who Sang”. Thank you Anne !!!
