What is it that makes this series so good? i don't love the characters. Aside from the dog walking, their home lives are quite boring. BUT -- there is something brilliant about the way Nick solves crime that lifts these stories above the norm. Great psychological engagement with the crims and top notch procedural aspects. And the stories are all quite different. Thankfully getting longer and better. One of my current favourites.

I listened to it. All I think because of Simon Mattacks narration he’s got a terrific voice. As for the story. Well........it’s average not at all moving. The lead seems to be more in love with his dog than his girlfriend. I wouldn’t recommend this.
