About this listen

Myer lives on a NZ mountain farm with her border collie, chickens, sheep and her faithful horse, Mustard. She hunts and forages, and barely leaves the mountain, only venturing into town to stock up on provisions once or twice a month. It’s on one of these trips that she notices a toddler choking in a public carpark. She springs into action and saves the child, and then slips away, back up the mountain.

It’s been seven years since she fled to the edge of the world and reinvented herself, but her spontaneous act of mercy has brought her into the public eye. Which means that, despite all of Myer’s best efforts to outrun her brutal past and disappear, he will be able to find her at last...

A chilling, high-octane thriller from the bestselling author of Tell Me Lies and Trapdoor.

This author always delivers. The story in this case is told from the perspectives of the hunter and the hunted and makes for an absolutely nail biting experience. It features some stand out characters in Coke and T, and the author is to be commended for how complete these secondary characters are. The narration is spot on, with the accents well done.

Another great story from Pomare

Fantastic story, unexpected and so thrilling! Never miss a chance to listen to a JP POmare. I loved the way it was told, my only complaint is that it isn't longer because I could listen to these voices all day

Tense and thrilling!

Really enjoyed this book. Wasn’t sure how she was going to survive. It did finish abruptly and I felt it could have continued to round the story off a bit better.
Overall it was a great story and the narrator was great.

Couldn’t put it down.

Myer, not her real name, saves a child's life and puts her own in danger. Will she be found by her lovers killer.? Loved this well written and perfomed gripping story by a new author to me.

It kept you guessing the whole way. My only annoyance (spoiler ahead)… why didn’t she look at the usb?
