Publisher's Summary

Domestic Enemies: The Reconquista is a novel set in the not-too-distant future in the American Southwest, during a period of low-intensity civil war. The action takes place between Texas and California, but the story is mainly centered around New Mexico. Domestic Enemies: The Reconquista is a sequel to Enemies Foreign and Domestic, but it may be enjoyed on its own.

I am getting the series there's 3 books.

I fully enjoyed the story and the characters. This is a author who'll be having more audio books produced soon I would think. The narrator was perfect somehow I see all this with a strong southern accent for characters at least most. I look forward to more. Hopefully soon.
There's a 3rd book in this series I have it on kindle but would prefer audio.

good listen - more twists than a country road

Unlike a lot of Patriot Fiction this is very well written with a good plot and character development

Looking forward to the next one

Good Story, Horrible Narration & Editing

I enjoyed reading this trilogy previously as e-books. Because a special sale price was offered, I purchased the audio books.
Again, the story was good, but the narration, which is heavily accented with a southern drawl (which I don't mind) is almost monotone to the point that it is sometimes hard to decipher which character is speaking. Add to that the change in pronunciation of characters' last names, extremely noticeable changes in recording sessions (EQ, pitch, volume, hiss, distance between the narrator and microphone, room echo, etc.), and horrible editing, this is merely a tolerable experience. With a lot of re-editing it might be a bit better, but it won't be worth it. Start over with a new narrator and recording engineer / producer and you might have something.
As it is, save your money and buy the electronic or physical books.

Well done!

Mr Brackens books should be made into movies. The narrators voice is perfect for telling this story. Don't listen to other reviews regarding the narration. I've read all his books and I am working on listening to them all on audible. I wish there were more in the EFD story.

Such a great story. Couldn't put it down!

Deep story line, twists, lots of action. It's scary how the story mirrors what is happening in the headlines today.

What made the experience of listening to Domestic Enemies: The Reconquista the most enjoyable?

Extremely well researched. Author is obviously a lifelong student of the subject matter. Thank you Matt Bracken for sharing your insight.

Great Patriotic Book

Awesome story for the constitutionally minded. Gun lovers will appreciate as well. Worth the time to listen.

Possible and probable

What did you love best about Domestic Enemies: The Reconquista?

It reminded me of another book I read awhile back called
"The Next 100 Years: A Forecast for the 21st Century " It's quite frightening to think, but I believe this is where the country is headed. I think Mr. Bracken is doing a great service by putting these scenarios in fictional settings, it will open a few peoples eyes to what is going on around them. That is what I like best about the story

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes, it is plausible and believable..

Which character – as performed by Mike Kemp – was your favorite?

Bob Boulard

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Little Brians assistance in the escape.

Any additional comments?

Read for #3....I like Mikes voice, but his narration seems somewhat amateur ..still I like it..
