Publisher's Summary

Dolores Claiborne has a story to tell. But it is not quite what the police had expected.

Dolores Claiborne has a confession to make.... She will take her time. Won't be hurried. Will do it her way, sparing neither details nor feelings. Hers or anyone else's.

This is the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Truth that takes you to the edge of darkness. Dolores Claiborne has a story to tell, and you'd better pay attention - or else.

Best audiobook I've had so far!

If you could sum up Dolores Claiborne in three words, what would they be?

Truly engaging story!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Dolores Claiborne?

The story doesn't move too quickly but it is the detail and humanity behind it which makes it so captivating.

What does Frances Sternhagen bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

The narrator has an unusual voice for an audiobook but as you listen, you'll understand that it is the perfect voice for the story being told.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The reveal at the end, but I won't spoil it for you.

Any additional comments?

I highly recommend this audiobook. It is a mystery but also human and dramatic - it is just a great story and those will always be relevant and sought out. The characters have many layers to them and it is brilliant writing as you would expect from Stephen King.

Not a Who Done it, but why’d they do it.

This was such a nice and easy read compared to some of Kings longer works, that said all though not his best work according to many, this would be one of my favourites. Like many of his other books it tackles hard topics such as domestic violence and sexual assault of a young girl, so trigger warning for that. It is one of his few books that don’t have a supernatural angle but deal in the real life horrors of life itself.

It perfectly narrated, the characterisation is spot on and moves you with out realising it.

Also it another book that ties in to the king universe with connection to another book.

A gripping story of a small town/island mother

masterful tale of a hard working mother's love for her children and her life on a small island off the coast of North East America. King's insight of small town lifestyle is fantastic.

Absolutely a great read!

This is my favorite SK book. The story is amazing and the audiobook's actress brings Dolores to life! Not so much horror element as in so many Kings books, other than the horror some people show others in cruel and mean ways. I love it!

One of the best

Not sure how old this published book is but it should have been written for audio. An incredible challenge to write an entire book based on one woman's statement from start to finish. The narration needed to be good and it was perfect. Add to that a the typical king world and characters and it was faultless. I absolutely loved this book, so theyar brilliant
