Wonderful story of faith, family and love. Perfect example of raising up children in the way they should go with a God centred moral compass. Raised with compassion for all God’s creatures and strong love and respect for self and family. Shows how everything may not be exactly how you want and certainly not easy but Ms Parton has been smart enough to know that He works all things for good and she is an example of where hard work and belief in something bigger than herself can take you. Well worth listening. (P.S She mentioned Weinstein not Epstein)

As Dolly was the narrater I thought this was great & she has such an interesting life but at times she seemed to ramble & at times it was a hard listen !

This wasn’t a typical book with storyline but a collection of Dolly’s thoughts on her life and songwriting. In audio format it worked, as Dolly is a great storyteller but I’m not convinced a written version would. It’s very stream of consciousness and doesn’t follow any sort of storyline but amazing to hear Dolly’s influences in her own words. They include snippets of her songs and she sings in parts too!

I really enjoyed listening to Dollys story. I learned a lot eg that she had written 3000 songs. Snippets of songs let me hear several I had never heard before. Also some TV movies. I now have some research to do to find them as I've been a fan for years

I really liked this and found out many things I had never known. My Mum loved Dolly and we watched a lot of different things before she died. This was lovely to listen to, and reminisce that special time.

I’ve loved her music for years. I’ve been to see her live. But this book has been a step into the brilliance that is Dolly. I had no idea how prolific her song writing has been nor just how entertaining to hear her tell the story, her story, behind so many of her songs. Uplifting, charming and oh so admirable!
