DNF

Me Diamond seems to have a theme throughout the 2 books I've listened to. No Communication...it drives me nuts, although the book would be a hell of a lot shorter.
flight or fight plays a huge role with the heroine and I was expecting some big reveal and meh!
1st book was better and Seth's story sounds but I'm hesitant re the he said she said stuff, I need a bit more shock value....

Heroine Actually is a Spoiled Brat

By 3/5 of the way through the book I was hoping Brody would ditch Jesse and find someone else. Jesse behaves like an immature high schooler, and makes poor decisions that belie her supposedly world-wise model background. In addition she spends days and days delaying actually having a real talk with him; it’s ridiculous. He’s literally begged her to do something as small as talk to him and she just cries and runs. Really he deserves better.

It was ok

The story was good, however the male narrator did not do a good female voice. The book would have been a lot better if it was just read by Ava Erickson. A bad narration can make a good book so hard to get thru.

Narrators make a difference

Ava Erickson is always great but I really did not like the male narrator.

Not as good as book one.

I did not like the character of Brody. He was mean, a bully, and very judgmental of others. Sean Criden’s narration of Brody did not sound right.

A drawn out disappointment😩

This book for me was a letdown. After reading the first book I thought the supporting characters were set up to be very interesting and that their stories would be an interesting and fun read. That was not the case with this story. Although this book was Brody and Jessa’s love story it was mostly just Jessa’s story, she was the one that really set the tone for the story. I found Jessa to be annoying and childish. I felt like the story really dragged out and lots of parts were just redundant. It took everything in me not to skip ahead. I was trying to see if the book would at any point in time redeem itself, it did not. For me the big reveal was anti-climactic and definitely not worth the long drawn out wait. I feel like this was a waste of my time. All in all, if the not book in this series continues in this manner I will be dropping this series and finding something else.

Love it again!

I think I might have even liked this one better than the last one!! I love rock star books and especially if it’s a series! These are nicely done and you get to have a peek at the lives of the others you have read about in previous books which I love. Very much looking forward to the next one!

Brody Mason & Jessa Mayes

*****SPOILER ALERT*****

Audible review. Book 2 of 8 in the Dirty series. Narrators: Sean Crisden sounds a lot like Kevin Bacon and while I like his voice he did not fit the alpha character he narrates; Ava Erickson did a great job. Trigger warnings: childhood neglect, bullying & domestic violence; Jessa's dad committed suicide & her mom died after an unknown illness; drugs & drug abuse/addiction; 2 fight scenes.

Jessa met Brody on the playground when she was 8 and he was 13, he was pulled away for 2 years because he was a trouble maker but returned to become one of her brother's closest friends. Jessa left home when she was 18 to pursue a modeling career and college. She was also battling grief, depression, low self-esteem and drug addiction. Brody was 23, manager of the band Dirty (Jessa's older brother Jesse's band), and tried to convince Jessa to stay because he was in love with her. 6 years later Jessa returns for Jesse and Katie's wedding. After the wedding Jessa stays in town to write with the band. Brody and Jessa eventually find their way back to each other but it's at the expense of Seth. They are living together at the end but not engaged/married. Zane & Maggie are married but very few people know about it.

Side characters: Roni (aka Wild Card; Jessa's best friend; formerly fooled around with Zane) is introduced. JP

Listening to this book was such a different experience than reading it. I loved it when I read it, but, fell hard for Brody after hearingthe recording. Great choice for narrators!

BRAVO!!!

Ava as Jessa is amazing, as to be expected, but Sean as Brody is absolutely brilliant! The emotion and angst in the story was beautifully and hauntingly performed!! A truly awesome book read by fantastic voices! Well done! BRAVO!! 👏👏

Great

I like Dirty series. Hot, steamy, great story line. Dirty like Brody is a great book. the reason I gave 4 stars on the story is becasue at some point I was just a bit put off at how undecided Jessa was. is like she was so confused on what she was doing. but then I really like how the conflict inside her is described. Brody well, is an amazing characther even though sometimes he does not listen propely.

Thank you for your books Jaine

Hmmmmm

I really wanted to like this as I love the other books. The story became very annoying nearing the end i dont think it is that normal to with hold things from someone for so long.
Now I dont know if it was that frustrating because I knew the ending from a review or if I have a low tolerance for unnecessary arguments, I felt like I was screaming at them to get their crap together....
Saying all this,, I did enjoy the book and I will have to give it another go to see if now I know the whole story if it is less annoying to listen to. Please dont think I'm saying it's a rubbish book as it really wasn't. 📖📙📚
