DNF

Me Diamond seems to have a theme throughout the 2 books I've listened to. No Communication...it drives me nuts, although the book would be a hell of a lot shorter.
flight or fight plays a huge role with the heroine and I was expecting some big reveal and meh!
1st book was better and Seth's story sounds but I'm hesitant re the he said she said stuff, I need a bit more shock value....

BRAVO!!!

Ava as Jessa is amazing, as to be expected, but Sean as Brody is absolutely brilliant! The emotion and angst in the story was beautifully and hauntingly performed!! A truly awesome book read by fantastic voices! Well done! BRAVO!! 👏👏

Male narrator ruined it for me!

The story was good, not great. There was too much angst, internal dialogue and “what’s the freaking secret?!!” for my liking. What ruined it for my was the male narrator. His for made me picture a whiney asshole in a suit and made it hard to like Brody. His female narration was even worse. When the secret finally came out he was reading. Jesse was crying and oh my goodness that was laughable. Here is this big scene we have waited the whole book for and his voice ruined it all. The last chapter he does the epilogue for Seth and I wanted to know where that voice was the whole book! If you are going to read this and you should because it is an important book in there do yourself a favor and skip the audio version of this!

It was ok

The story was good, however the male narrator did not do a good female voice. The book would have been a lot better if it was just read by Ava Erickson. A bad narration can make a good book so hard to get thru.

Good book

The first book in this series was a better story, but this book did good with character building of many of the characters. Also I have seen some people comment about the secret of Jessa being inconsequential... nothing is further from the truth. Traumatic experiences that happen during childhood can make great impacts on their life then and as adults. That part of the story was nail on, obviously the author understood that. Narrating is awesome as well.

Tried so hard to like it

Turns out basing an entire book on an insignificant secret and filling in the blanks with dramatic fluff does not make for an audiobook that can hold my attention. Tried so hard to finish it because I'd loved a couple other books by this author, but I just couldn't do it. If books with a lot of inner-monologuing to drive the plot and laughably unrealistic dialogue are your thing, then maybe you'll be able to finish the whole thing!

Hmmmmm

I really wanted to like this as I love the other books. The story became very annoying nearing the end i dont think it is that normal to with hold things from someone for so long.
Now I dont know if it was that frustrating because I knew the ending from a review or if I have a low tolerance for unnecessary arguments, I felt like I was screaming at them to get their crap together....
Saying all this,, I did enjoy the book and I will have to give it another go to see if now I know the whole story if it is less annoying to listen to. Please dont think I'm saying it's a rubbish book as it really wasn't. 📖📙📚
