Summary

Nofel hanesyddol ysgytwol yw Diffodd y Sêr. Mae'r stori wedi'i seilio ar hanes Hedd Wyn ac mae'r Rhyfel Byd Cyntaf yn gefndir i'r digwyddiadau."Credaf fod hon yn nofel wych fyddai'n werth i bobl o bob oed ei darllen." - Helen Angharad Evans, Barn"Dyma nofel sy'n werth ei darllen. Nid tasg hawdd i awdur yw ysgrifennu am un o ddigwyddiadau mwyaf erchyll dynoliaeth, ond fe lwyddodd Haf Llewelyn. Nid yw'n celu dim, ac mae'r sgwennu'n ddirdynnol ac yn ddigon i fferru'r gwaed. Ond ochr yn ochr â'r disgrifiadau ysgytwol mae yma ysgrifennu sensitif a dwys, a llwydda'r awdur i ddod ag elfennau o hapusrwydd a pheth ysgafnder i fywydau'r cymeriadau." Menna Lloyd Williams
