Ein einzelner wehrte sich verzweifelt gegen eine Übermacht. Der zerlumpte kleine Kerl in gelben und schwarzen Fetzen focht wütend mit seiner Speerhälfte wider ein Dutzend Spanier. Zweie hatte er hingestreckt, wurde jetzt aber von den übrigen überwältigt, und schon saß ihm eine Speerspitze an der Kehle, als der vor ihm kniende Spanier von einem anderen zurückgerissen wurde, welcher auf den heransprengenden Feldherrn deutete.
