Quaxi, der berühmte Wetterfrosch sagt jeden Tag im Fernsehen das Wetter voraus. Nach getaner Arbeit hat er bei seinem Freund Herrn Nowotny ein zuhause gefunden. Herr Nowotny arbeitet als Museumswächter und hat Quaxi dort ein gemütliches Heim eingerichtet, mit Hängematte versteht sich.
Die Eltern von Quaxi haben ihren Sohn schon lange nicht gesehen und machen sich Sorgen. Deshalb beschließen Quaxi, Herr Nowotny und Otto der Wetterhahn die Eltern in Spanien zu überraschen – und auch Lisbeth, in die Quaxi verliebt ist.
Doch was ist los am Heimatteich, es droht große Gefahr. Die Frösche haben den Störchen einige Streiche gespielt und nun sinnen die Störche auf Rache.
