An einem verregneten Spätnachmittag irgendwann in den frühen Sechziger-Jahren saß ich an der Kasse meines kleinen Gemischtwarengeschäftes in einem Dorf im nördlichen Mühlviertel. Die Arbeit im Geschäft machte mir Spaß, denn ich unterhielt mich gerne mit Menschen. Oft, besonders an Nachmittagen, gab es aber Phasen, in denen der Laden leer war. Auch das genoss ich, denn da konnte ich ungestört meine Reise-Zeitschriften lesen.
