SO DISAPPOINTING

I was so looking forward to this story and hoped its dark chapters would have a kick and a delicious thrill or two.. but sadly I was wrong because it just seemed to drag on and on and on. And I really think the tepid narration had a lot to do with my “meh” feelings because, when there’s a badass alpha dark anti-hero, you really need a) duet-style narration or b) a strong female narrator who can do a convincing male voice. But unfortunately Kelli couldn’t pull this off convincingly.. and there were only a few chapters from Connor giving the hero’s POV and his narration underwhelmed me too.

Worth a credit? I bought the Prequel and made it to the end of this book.. but unfortunately it failed to grip or wow me because the narration just wasn’t a good fit so sadly no, IMO, not worth a credit and I definitely won’t be following the story.

Drawn out and Luke warm

Since I felt that her Tangled Web Trilogy was lackluster, I was anxiously waiting for Devil’s Deal but suffered more disappointment. It took an entire book to describe 2-3 major, but predictable, events and at the end, I was in no way dying to read (or pay for) the next installment. It was almost a single person narration as very few chapters were read by the male POV who, I felt, lacked conviction and power in his tone. After writing the Consequences and Fidelity (my favorite series EVER) sets, I’m left seriously wanting by Ms. Romig.

Loved that this was from both POV's.

This was an excellent dark romance but it isn't finished yet, since it's a duet! Looking forward to listening to book two to get the rest of Everett and Emma's story.

Loved It!!!

I loved the ominous feel of New Orleans and that page after page wondering what was going to happen next! The Queen of romantic mystery suspense amps things up in this book. I cannot figure out what or who is good or evil or is evil good/good evil.

Romig is such a gifted writer. Character development is excellent and the story unfolds brilliantly as it plays out. One twist after another and then the explosive cliffhanger.

I can’t wait for more of Rett and Emma in Angel’ Promise and discover all the sordid secrets.

Narration was excellent!!!!
