Seit einem Jahr dreht sich Laras Leben um die siebenjährige Emily. Auf Sylt hat sich die Lage nur scheinbar entspannt, nach Max' überraschendem Geständnis ist alles noch komplizierter als zuvor. Daher plant Lara die Rückkehr nach Hamburg, doch Emily träumt davon, für immer auf Sylt zu bleiben.
Lara sieht sie sich nicht in der Lage, diesen Wunsch zu erfüllen. Das reale Leben ist nun mal nicht immer mit den Träumen eines Kindes zu vereinbaren. Außerdem ist völlig offen, wie sich die Beziehung zu Max weiterentwickeln soll.
