Eines Tages hatte der Fuchs den Storch zum Mittagessen eingeladen. Es gab nur eine Suppe, die der Fuchs seinem Gast auf einem Teller vorsetzte. Von dem flachen Teller aber konnte der Storch mit seinem langen Schnabel nichts aufnehmen. Der listige Fuchs indessen schlappte alles in einem Augenblick weg.
