Jacques Berndorf (Pseudonym des Journalisten Michael Preute) wurde 1936 in Duisburg geboren und wohnt, wie sollte es anders sein, in der Eifel. Pfeifenraucher Berndorf kann ohne Katzen und Garten nicht gut leben und weigert sich, über Menschen und Dinge zu schreiben, die er nicht kennt oder nicht gesehen hat.
