About this listen

With all hope of an appeal fading away, the fate of a condemned murderess takes a shocking turn in a breathtaking short story by the #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Housemaid.

Talia Kemper is on death row for murdering her husband. She had an alibi and no known motive, yet Talia’s unwavering protestations of innocence have always been ignored. Then one day in the visiting area, she sees a recognizable stranger she’s certain is her husband. It turns out the man she’s been convicted of killing may not be dead after all. But as the days tick away toward Talia’s execution, what will it take for her to be believed?

Freida McFadden’s Death Row is part of Alibis, a collection of stories about lies, truth, and deception. It’s just a matter of what you can get away with. They can be read or listened to in one sitting.

l was hooked on the death row bit - and on reflection that is exactly what the most unpleasant main character is on. Death Row - there by her own actions always.

It didn't read like a Freida McFadden. It was quite simply, boring and unimaginative. Very disappointing.

Is it really a McFadden?

I liked the story. I understand why it is a short story. At the same time I also wish it was a much longer book.

Lots of twists

Bizarre! Good but bizarre, I’ve finished and have no idea of the outcome. I’ll have to go back and read what others have said.

I’m left confused, what happened? did she die?

Just under 2 hours with a nice pace and incredible twist that and satisfying ending.

Great Twist

Great short story. I really didn’t like the female main character, until the end. Her motivations to do what she did were confusing. Cleverly written though and a masterful conclusion. I listened at 1.5X and it was perfect.

Fun novella
