About this listen

Take one bored princess. Make her the seventh daughter in a very proper royal family. Have her run away.

Add one powerful, fascinating, dangerous dragon.

Princess Cimerone has never met anyone (or anything) like the dragon Kazul. But then, she's never met a witch, a jinn, a death-dealing talking bird or a stone prince either.

Princess Cimerone ran away to find some excitement.

She's found plenty.

Critic Reviews

"A decidedly diverting novel with plenty of action and many slightly skewed fairy-tale conventions that add to the laugh-out-loud pleasure." (Booklist)
"A wonderful listen for the entire family." (AudioFile)

The author has some interesting ideas and themes. Delivery of themes was heavy handed as if the target audience is children under 12 years old.

The narrator's performance was fine for the most part. The voice actors, though, hammed it up, making the audiobook more akin to slapstick than subtle comedy.

Interesting ideas, substandard execution

I think that maybe a ten(ish) year old might enjoy listening to this story and performance.

For kids.

Story is good but a little predictable its a good base for young readers starting out reading and it has a female protagonist so theres that difference but it does mention a lot the fact that she is female and isn’t your stereotypical princess can get a little annoying.

Very classical storytelling good for young readers
