About this listen
One missing girl. Two lives on the line. Four treacherous challenges.
Nora Sommer's first case for the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service is one she'll never forget - if she survives.
When the daughter of a wealthy businessman is taken, Nora is first on the scene and unwittingly "chosen" by the kidnapper. With the crime live-streamed across the internet, the eyes of the world are upon her as she faces a sequence of difficult challenges with the life of the kidnapped girl hanging on Nora's success - or failure.
Deadly Sommer is the thrilling first book in the Nora Sommer Caribbean Suspense series.

It works
The story is great, the characters are very engaging and relatable
Nora is the height of cool without wanting to be or letting anyone treat her as anything but an ordinary person just wanting to get by somewhat under the radar
The corporate/capitalist being the real bad guy isn’t cliche it’s just realistic, behind most bad situations: follow the money
Realistic even if simplified police procedures were great; no dirty harry nonsense
The Norwegian-ness of Nora is so spot on and the voice performance going from Nora’s scandi accent (sounds so much like a Finnish colleague I have), to Caribbean, to British to American and male/female was excellent - not exaggerated but close enough that you appreciate which is 5/5 to me
Plausible scenario, intense but not over the top - realistic and gripping, loved it
