 Sookie Stackhouse is a small-time cocktail waitress in small-town Louisiana. She's quiet, keeps to herself, and doesn't get out much - not because she's not pretty - she's a very cute bubbly blonde - or not interested in a social life. She really is...but Sookie's got a bit of a disability. She can read minds.

And that doesn't make her too dateable. And then along comes Bill: he's tall, he's dark and he's handsome - and Sookie can't 'hear' a word he's thinking. I love the Southern vampire series and the audio books don’t disappoint! The performance is great and the story is fun with a touch of spice

I just haven’t got around to reading these books yet. To my delight the audiobooks are wonderfully narrated… I’m going to enjoy!

Narrator is good for Sookie, but struggles a little with male voices, I think.
This series is gripping, amusing, and an exploration of what people will do to be part of a group.

Love these books and the narrator has done a fantastic job. I find they make or break it so happy I can now listen to these whenever, which is much easier done than setting the time aside to read.

Narrated expertly by Johanna Parker and told through the eyes of a pretty young waitress with a “disability”, Dead Until Dark is a very entertaining blend of several genres. It is not just a vampire novel, though they feature prominently. There are elements of romance, of violence, of adventure, of humour and of the minutiae of everyday life. It is an adult read.
