About this listen
Penguin presents the new unabridged, downloadable audiobook edition of Dead Men's Bones, the new gripping thriller from James Oswald.
Morag Weatherly and her two young daughters have been shot by husband Andrew, an influential politician, before he turned the gun on himself. But what would cause a rich, successful man to snap so suddenly?
For Inspector Tony McLean, this apparently simple but high-profile case leads him into a world of power and privilege. And the deeper he digs, the more he realises he's being manipulated by shadowy factions.
Under pressure to wrap up the case, McLean instead seeks to uncover layers of truth - putting the lives of everyone he cares about at risk . . .

The previous book has an enormous plot hole of many parts, not the least was my burning question: But what about the cat?
If Mr Oswald needs a proof reader with a good eye for continuity errors, I'm available.
Thank goodness the cat is okay!

The ultimate evil manifests itself in the form of the character Mrs Saifre in this novel. In the real world much evil is perpetrated under the guise of ritual and ceremony but is really just sick fantasies being satisfied, nearly always by rich and powerful people, with much effort being made to cover it up. This is essentially the basis for this story which is very good but could have wrapped up a bit better in the end. Perhaps the door has been left open deliberately for the return of Evil. As always Ian Hanmore makes the characters. I just love the work of this hard to beat duo. Hats off to James Oswald and team for staying with this excellent narrator. Very disappointing when listening to a series and the narrator is changed. Ruins it completely!Evil to the Max !
