Opening an old-fashioned five-and-dime shop in her small Missouri hometown has been a great change for Devereaux “Dev” Sinclair. I am not entirely in sympathy with Dev; she is one who likes to have her cake and eat it too, but some how she gets away with it. I suppose I wouldn't have the ...tenacity? ...guts? ...stupidity? ...whatever...that justifies the amateur private/personal investigation that I like reading about, so how can I fully enter her motivation? Neither is it absolutely realistic, but if you want realism, read true crime. Anyway, I enjoy her antics and her relationships and would like to have a milkshake at her store. I've listened to all three stories so far and look forward to the next.
