About this listen

After a decade of tragedy and pain, Carly Townsend wants to start over. Her dream is shattered when she is woken in the dead of night by a man standing next to her bed, silently watching her. Yet there is no way an intruder could have entered the apartment.

With police doubting her story and her psychologist suggesting it's just a dream, Carly is on her own. But being alone isn't so appealing when you're scared to go to sleep....

Critic Reviews

"We read this chilling thriller in two days, poised on a knife’s edge of suspense the entire time.... It’s the kind of unpredictable, heart-pumping story that will appeal to fans of The Girl on the Train." ( iBooks)

A well written story that will leave you checking every aspect of your home & not trusting anyone including yourself. I wish things had gone a little bit more in depth with Carly's history as to why she ended up in Newcastle. A great thriller thats hard to run off.

What a great story. Great characters and the narrator was excellent. Keeps you guessing as to what is happening. Is it in her head or is it real??? Couldn’t stop listening.

Wonderful mystery

A woman trying to overcome her past must confront a dangerous visitor to regain her life. one star goes because it's another story about an unreliable witness up against a clever foe. A thriller set in a apartment block where a woman is attacked in the night.

This could make a good Australian TV movie. I started it in the daytime but could not put it down until early next morning when I finished it.
Really well plotted and the police attitudes to Carly's reports were, unfortunately all too accurate and believable. The ending was definitely brilliant. I have just marked all of this author's other books to my wish list. Move over Moriarty.

So different from the usual suspects, by mid book you can't stop listening!!
Great characters, author makes you feel like you know them and are right there in the story. By the last 10 chapters you won't be able to put it down, quirky twists that all come together for a terrific ending!!

Unique Storyline - Captures the imagination!!

I couldn't get past about 3 hours of this before I had to chuck it in. Over the top read with voices that sounded like caricatures and the plot is tedious. I listen to a lot of different things and are pretty tolerant however I couldn't stand this one sadly as I wanted it to be good.

Very poor read
