About this listen

One Master survived the inferno that destroyed the Order of the Illuminati. He may know that I survived, but does he suspect that I betrayed the Order?

Rudolf Heine has sent Hunters flooding into Westport, wreaking carnage on vampires, shifters, and mages. Normal humans are taking notice, and the shadow world teeters on the verge of being revealed.

The Hunters also may be hunting me. Do I stay and fight for my new life and my friends, or run again?

Contains mature themes.

I really like that the various threads of the past were resolved neatly and that her place in the community she fought to save were reinforced and rewarded

It took me a while to decide if I liked this series. At first I did not mind when Tory put others in trouble as she acted before she thought things through, as she was new to the magical world. By the third book I found her behaviour petulant and annoying when she put others in jeopardy, for example - so she could get her tonic. I think I need a more mature heroine (I may be too old for this series). So I think I will stop reading this series, otherwise the other characters were very good.
