Publisher's Summary

He’s a smooth-talking jock. An ace quarterback. And suddenly screwed.

Damon Prescott had it all. Star quarterback. Money. Fame. Now? He’s being accused of taking performance-enhancing drugs and banned from the sport and team he loves.

Determined to prove he’s innocent, he hires tough-as-nails private investigator Evie Wolfe. She’s able to bring a man to his knees with a glare, yet sensual in ways that take him off guard - and she’s everything Damon didn’t know he needed.

Evie is used to men dismissing her, especially playboys like Damon Prescott, so she’s not buying the sexual lines he’s trying to sell. She’s with him to do a job, nothing more. But you know what they say about the best laid plans? Sometimes you end up between the sheets with an arrogant football player anyway.

But when the case is over, can Damon convince Evie she’s the only woman for him, or will she leave him tied up in love?

Overall an Okay Story

liked Evie and Damon, but nothing earth shading. I'm not sure I like the narrators acting as third ad and persons. it was distracting especially when they played as characters as well. Not to mention, playing at other characters. Additionally, I think the narrators, which I love, did a poor job imitating one another, particularly, Erin mallon trying to be Joe Arden, as Damon

Even more Dare cousins In this pleasant romance

Brother Damian is recovering from a football injury when he is set up with a bad drug test. Family Friend Evie is a PI and happy to help while pretending to be Damian’s girlfriend. Great chemistry leads to the inevitable but he falls for her and has to work at Convincing her that he is serious. Good flow with dialog and a nice, sexy romance with little drama other than the obvious answer to the drug test mystery And her occasional harassment by a violent ex. Evie’s siblings, Damian’s remains siblings, and yet another branch of Dare cousins are introduced as future stories for the series plus another couple of appearances with Ian and Reilly Dare. Great narration. Looking forward to more of these very lite, escapist romances.

Great story

As always another amazing story by Carly Phillips! Evie and Damon are perfect together. They both see past each others insecurities and compliment the other in some of the best ways! She believes in him from day 1, just because she was hired to do a job didn't mean she has to believe him but there was never a question for her in Damon's innocence and he never hesitated in making her his! Loved these two!

Fantabulous

Damon and Evie’s story was so fantabulous! Throw in the awesome performance of Erin and Joe and you have gold! Damon is a NFL quarterback whose reputation is tarnished. Knowing he was set up, he hires Evie to work on his case. Evie is a strong, smart, and sassy PI with problems of her own. A crazy ex who has reached Stalker status at the most dangerous level. He is the reason Evie has trust issues with men and question her instincts to do her job. Together Damon and Evie work on their professional and personal issues. But what will happen in the end when all their professional problems are solved? Will they walk away from each other or trust their hearts and give love a chance? Such a fantastic read. Loved the characters, the pace and the intrigue. Oh and let’s not forget the heat. Cause whoa mama...hotttt. Great book to one-click and get lost.

Awesome story

I was pulled into this book right from the beginning and that is where I stayed until I had read the last word written. All the time I had my little mini movie playing along in my head. The emotions that the characters go through can be felt, some of them actually pulled on my heart strings. I did find myself getting frustrated a time or two and I really wanted to smack a few of the characters, but they redeemed themselves by the end of the book. I went through most of the emotions along with the characters, I might of cried a little bit more than the characters. It doesn't matter how many times I read this book I cried at the same places each and every time. There are surprises throughout the book, some are large, while others are small. Some you may see coming while others you won't, but each and every single one of them is equally as important with in the story as the next. They all play there own part in making the story the fantastic read that it is. There isn't a single part of this book that I didn't enjoy, I wish I could give it more than five stars as I think it s worth so many more stars. I highly recommend this book.
